I visited during COVID so it wasn’t under normal circumstances. As a resort that is literally 15 minutes from the centre this place is amazing. You feel like you’re on holiday. From the beach to the waterfront bars and cafes you could be miles away from the city.
This is a welcome haven to get away from the bustle of central Belgrade.
There should be this sort of place near every city.

A multi use recreation are with cycle ways, beaches, walkways and coveted spaces to relax in. Ada Ciganlija is a large approximately 8km around the water edge. Lots of restaurants and bars too. If you have any spare time when visiting Belgrade, a few hours in this local beauty spot is ideal.

This is one of those places that symbolize one city. In the case of Belgrade it's a lake. It has content for both younger and older population, family people and single too. Caffes, tracks, sport courts and the swimming area are on your disposal. It's worth visiting it in any part of the year.

I came here to go running with friends a few times while I was in Belgrade. It's a great place to go for exercise or leisure. There are watersport options and paths that are good for running and cycling, plus countless cafés and bars along the river. It's gorgeous at sunset. Really enjoyed coming here and would recommend it to anyone.

This is a nice city beach pretty close to the city center (although I recommend taking the bus). There are multiple beaches on both sites and there are a lot of places to get food and drinks. The water is very pleasant and it was not too crowded. This was very nice to go.

This large lake area has plenty to do. The beaches are pebbles so sandals to get to the water or water shoes are helpful. Bring sunscreen as shaded areas are limited. Definitely worth a swim on a hot day; and very close to the city.

Ada Ciganlija, Belgrade's most popular city beach, is great place to relax during hot summer days. It is only 4 km far from city center.
You can enjoy swimming in lake made by Sava river, or have a water skiing. Ada has various sport playgrounds for volleyball, basketball, football and even golf. You can always take a break in nice cafes by the water.

Ada Ciganlija was a little shock for us. (Ada means river island) We were amazed to see such a beautiful lake at the very heart of the city, with lots of opportunities for sport lovers. And also you will see here probably the most beautiful and hottest girls in Europe. Swimming was pleasant, biking and skating is a must. path around the lake is aproximately 7 miles long. There is also a water ski. And if you're tired and hungry there are almost a hundred little cafe bars and restaurants by the water with great offer and affordable prices. Of course if you like to sunbathe naked, there is a huge naturist beach at the end of the lake. True Belgrade's jewel. And new bridge looks astonishing.

Yes, but its better when is sunny and warm. but if you like walking by the water even if its raining its nice too. there are many places where you can stop by for hot drink.

Hi - what bus line do we need from the main railway station to get to Ada Ciganlija? How often do the buses run, and do we just buy a ticket from the driver? Also a note of the direction this bus is running too so we get on the correct direction. Thanks in advance :)

There are many bus lines running from the main railway station to Ada Ciganlija.
Just download the app for your smartphone from rest.rs and you'll get the latest info on Belgrade public transport. Depending on the bus line you get in direction to take will be different ... just show the map or name to the driver or someone around you and everyone will help you.
English is widely spoken and people are helpful and friendly.
Buses are running from every few min to once every 10-15 min depending on a time of a day.
I'm pretty sure you can get tickets from the driver and also on almost any kiosk around the city.
You may also consider taxi to get there, which will not cost you more than 4-5 euros.
