Belgrade is home to increasingly famous night spots and we had decided when visiting to try the Nightlife Academy to look beyond the river front pontoons and see what else is on offer. We are not big club people and when we do its not for the pop/house hits you get in the majority (not dissing it, just not me). On the outset I felt this was a good experience but in the end I don't think we actually got much benefit from the tour. The website seems a little miss leading. Not that we expected many drinks/food included but I thought that we'd hear more about the places we were visiting. In fact rarely we were told any significant details of the bars we visited. The website creates an idea that there will be some kind of teaching and learning involved; this simply was not the case with my experience. The group we had were very relaxed and as they seemed keen to take their time we had only visited 2 bars before walking 3 - 4km to the pontoon bars which make the nightlife famous. Upon arrival to the last stop we were told that we would have to pay 200din to get in (not a large price for a club). At this stage we just left as it wasn't for us this evening. The club was rammed and I didn't think we were going to get any special experience being there. Our host Jelena was pleasant and obviously interested in meeting and interacting with the group which made us all feel welcome. Though I was not a fan of the tour in the end she did help us out by making suggestions on bars that we were not visiting on the tour and also local food recommendations. These experiences are really each to their own in the end. I guess if you are happy to be shown a couple of bars and then finish up at one of the boat bars than this will be beneficial for you; especially if you are travelling alone and want to meet others. As for an authentic experience, I don't think we got this. I didn't have a terrible time though, just felt that the website creates something that wasn't delivered in the end.

We decided to do the belgrade underground tour on our three days trip to Belgrade. it was an excellent choice, no doubts!we saw a few places we wouldn't have seen without our professor. Started with a bar in a flat, heading then to a great roof top bar and ended up in a cool club (can't remember the name). Beside the trendy locals we visited, we really enjoyed the time with our professor ivana. She was very nice, interested and could tell us a lot of things about belgrade. She made us feel very comfortable, we had a lot of fun. In conclusion, if you are visiting belgrade, take the tour with nighlife academy, i can highly recommend it. Hope you will pass your exams. Cheers.

We did the pub crawl last week with a new professor. It was quite a small group but we all got on really well. However I don't feel as though we got good value for money - for our 10 euro fee we got a couple of Rakija shots and that was it. It was fun to go out with a group of new people but it was nothing more than a bar crawl - I didnt feel as though we got the true 'academy' experience and the website had led me to think we would get more for our money (it mentions traditional cuisine but we didn't get any). Fun evening out if you get a good group of people but I wouldn't rush back.

I did the pub crawl 1,5 year ago when i first visited Belgrade and we had great time. For a fee of 10-15 euro we visited 4 cool places and had a lot of drinks and some food included. I loved the places and we had a lot of fun. A week ago I visited Belgrade again and based on my previous experience I made a reservation for me and two friends. What really annoyed me was that this time we had to pay 10 euro fee but it didnt include much (only 1-2 shots of rakija). Basically we paid just to be shown around which we could have done ourselves taking into account I knew the places already. Nevertheless we had such a nice evening!!! We had a nice crawd and partied together from 8 till 3am. The next time I go (September) I am planning to join them again (although i hate that i have to pay for nothing) because this is a great way to meet other internationals ready to rock the night!
