Our tour leader, Gabriel, clearly has a love of and passion for his beautiful country Romania. He made every day a memorable journey through its history and that of Bulgaria. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of Romanian history.

The tour is a walk through thousands of years of history and the people of the various regions which Gabriel brought to life with his commentary. Historically, stories were told in painting not writing so you see a lot of ancient churches, monastery’s, castles, citadels etc. and city buildings but, given the roles they played, still stand and are in use today.

This is a unique experience. I can’t imagine a better way to actually see, understand and appreciate these 2 countries.

We stayed in some quirky hotels (these are not Park Hyatt or even Marriott type hotels but nor should they be for the price of the tour) most are older buildings but with good facilities. Every one was clean, spacious, safe and memorable. We were well looked after. Breakfasts were good and much appreciated.

Our driver Marios was patient, helpful and professional. There was not a moment we felt unsafe with him driving.

The food around both countries is excellent. Shopping time is limited but there was still plenty of downtime built into the schedule. We learned a lot and saw everything and more that was listed on the initial advertising for the tour.

If you love history or architecture or want to see and appreciate the skill, ability, tenacity of our ancestors in design, engineering and everyday lifestyle or just want an in-depth look at two beautiful unique old countries then we recommend this tour.

This is a tour (rather than a holiday) with so much to see, appreciate and absorb.

Gabriel is a good tour leader and a very patient man. Although some days a lot of time is on the bus between places this is not boring. Gabriel ensures the group gets to see everything plus more as the schedule permits. He is an asset to Eastern European Experience.

Yes, we would do this tour again as it was everything we hoped it would be and the tour itself was excellent value for the price.

Our sincere thanks Gabriel and Marios.

We were on an all day excursion today to Peles Castle followed by Bran Castle ending in Brasov with our guide Gabriel. From beginning to end Gabriel was fantastic; he was helpful and informative and it was clear he is extremely knowledgeable. He made the trip fun and interesting and recommended local cuisine and good places to look around so that we have an immersive and authentic Romanian experience packed into one day! Would highly recommend the tour and Gabriel, top class!

Visited interesting sites such as The Salt Mines, Auschwitz, Berlin Wall, unique city architecture. Tour guide Karan was well organized, very informative and organized.
Hotels were good and centrally located, all with excellent breakfast buffets.
Jimmy, the bus driver, was friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend this tour, especially for all the WW2 information and sites.
Only complaint was the cost of the optional tours, some should have been included on the regular schedule.

The tour actually lasted 15 hours, we did not get back to the city until 9.30pm and we had to meet the bus at 7:15 am, no time for breakfast. Although the tour description states that they have small group for a personalized experience, we were 50 people stuck in one bus. Definitely not small. From 15 hours we spent 9 hours in the bus. The rest of time we spent queuing to buy tickets then we did in the castles and I would recommend booking tickets in advance. We barely had time for lunch and it was late lunch at 2pm. We didn't even get to see inside Dracula's castle which was the main reason we booked the tour. It was unfortunate as our guide was knowledgeable and nice but the tour was very disappointing.

Bus fully booked with 50 passengers, large group in the middle of a very common excursion, in fact we found many other buses throughout our itinerary. Too many people. Peles Castle is beautiful both inside and out, it's a pity that there are so many inside and it is difficult to walk and breath. Bran Castle (Dracula) nice from the outside, inside it is absolutely not worth the wait for the queue of more than half an hour (even if you have an online ticket, there is a queue for the entrance to do). Very nice town of Brasov, the center can be visited in a few minutes on foot. Departure at 7.15 in the morning from Bucharest and return at 21.30 in Bucharest. from Brasov to Bucharest due to the traffic is always a very long journey. Quick lunch at a streetfood in 15 minutes. Personally, I wouldn't do it again.

20 day tour of Romania and Bulgaria. We had an excellent experience with the help of our tour guide Gabriel and our driver Marios. Gabriel was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He was very accomodating with all of our requests and went out of his way to make our trip a memorable one. Thank you Gabriel.
The last three hotels in Bulgaria were way below average and I would request the company to have a look at these hotels before making bookings for their clients. The rooms smelt of stale smoke, No water pressure, air conditioning not working, breakfast at the Budapest hotel in Sofia was not worth the effort to get out of bed ( ran out of bread, fruit served was over ripe, ran out of eggs and baked beans at 9am in the morning.)
A big thank you to Gabriel and Marios.

Just completed a 20 day trip through Romania and Bulgaria. Best trip ever and our tour guide Gabriel was 10 out of 10. His knowledge and experience was exceptional. He looked after the entire trip whist still giving us some freedom. He was friendly and showed compassion and empathy when required and was able to manage 2 very difficult passengers who were extremely painful to the rest of the tour. He was well supported by the driver Marios. A huge thank to both Gabriel and Marios.

We had a wonderful day trip with our guide Gabriel, visiting Peles Castle, Bran Castle and Brasov. He was very prompt at time and the local restaurant he recommended is very good. Reasonable price, great local food and liquor. Gabriel has a wealth of knowledge of Romanian history and walked through us all the fun facts of main spots as we drove by.

It was snowing today on the mountains. Castles, forests covered in sheets of snow, almost feeling like a winter fairy tale.

This tour was not as expected, hotel was on list as pick-up but we were asked to walk for 20 minutes to meet the bus. Group supposed to be small but there were 50 people in the bus and we didn't mind as it's nice to meet other travelers but we had different expectations from the descriptions. I wonder what they consider a big group maybe 100. Peles is the highlight of the trip but we couldn't enjoy because we were so many people that other travelers were left outside of the castle and our guide barely managed to get all of us in one room in the castle. I wished we spent more time at Peles with more explanations from our guide. This trip does not deserve spending so much time at dracula castle instead of Peles castle and Brasov. Our guide was a nice guy and explained everything in the bus but there were always people that were late and because of this we were back at 10 pm although we meet the bus at 7:15 am. This is a long day so get strapped in.

Booked the tour via trip advisor.

Vlan, the tour guide was absolutely fantastic, very helpful and friendly, and Dan, the driver, was great.

We visited Pele Castle and Bran Castle and also Brasov for an hour.

Pele Castle, the waiting time was around an hour, and Bran Castle, about 20 minutes, both were worth the visit, but Bran Castle was just out of this world. (Very interesting). Our tour only cost around £32.00 each, but the journey is very long with different places stopping at.
