We were looking for a tour that included Bran and Peles Castles in Transilvania, as well as some painted churches in Bucovina but couldn't find that combination. We were referred to Daniel and he was willing to take us to all those places. We had a wonderful time and got to see some beautiful sites of Romania. We wished to have had more time. Daniel is very knowledgeable about many topics, we had nice conversations about different aspects of the country and the places we visited. The van was very comfortable, something important when you spend so many hours in a car. Daniel is also a great driver, we never felt unsafe with him. He was flexible and accommodating to our needs. We highly recommend him as a tour guide, he is kind and thoughtful and was always willing to help in anything we needed (for instance, the Covid test required to travel back home). He is also a very good photographer and took some very nice pictures with his drone. If we ever go back to Romania we will definitely travel with him.

Four friends and I just returned from an amazing trip from Budapest to Bucharest This was a quickly planned trip with the original plan to experience the Christmas markets. A friend fortunately found a highly recommended company, Covinnus Travels, that offered the perfect itinerary for us and we could do it as a small private group. From the very beginning the company owner, Daniel Gheorghita, was awesome. He made the reservation easy, arranged the perfect tour around our interests and timeframes and patiently answered all our questions. We contacted Daniel late October and met him at the Budapest airport on December 4. This was the fastest trip scheduled I've experienced. He made it all so easy.
We visited 11 cities with Christmas markets in most of them. While the markets exceeded our expectations, the tours of Hungary and Romania, and being immersed in the history, politics and culture was a very special experience and my favorite part of the trip because Daniel was so knowledgeable, honest, accommodating and desirous of our having the broadest experiences possible, including dining and shopping. He was with us breakfast through dinner each day, again patiently answering all of our questions. He even added a couple of side stops at no extra cost and at the expense of longer days for him to accommodate our interests. Daniel is also a professional photographer and he took pictures that captured the beauty of both countries in a way that we couldn't have done, and he used his drone to photograph such sights as the Carpathian Mountains and freely shared all photos with us. While I highly recommend this trip, Daniel tailors trips to individual needs and he's willing to accommodate.

Covinnus was quick in responding to the private itinerary; and also quick in refunding the trip that didn't push through due to COVID. They were the first to send the refund, 2 days after cancellation!
I'm still waiting for refunds for 2 accomodations from Hotels.com and one round trip from Flightnetwork. No communications were received from Hotels.com Gold at all.

Stop wasting time looking and book the best! We had an amazing 5 day private Transylvania tour with Covinnus. They made us feel more like special guests than customers.
Key Points:
* Communication with Covinnus was EASY and quick.
* Whether you want the standard info or you want to engage in a deeper dialogue on the history and significance of the sights you are visiting, Covinnus will not disappoint
* Spot on recommendations for food and things to do in your free time.
Even before the trip, email responses were very quick and they very kindly helped us with new COVID forms required for entry into Romania while we were en-route.
You will get all the history you could want from the very knowledgeable tour guides. We are the type of people that like to dig deeper and get a better understanding of the context around what happened and our guide was happy to dig into deeper conversation with us. We came away with a much better understanding and appreciation through this dialogue. Our guide paid attention to what we were interested in and made a point to include or emphasize the points he knew we would be most interested in. Our guide even paid attention to the kind of food we were enjoying and every single restaurant and food recommendation made was spot on for us. This is personalization at its finest!
A final very cool thing is that our guide was also an accomplished photographer and more than happy to take photos for us - all of those are amazing!
The only thing that could have made this better - we should have booked a longer tour so that we could have spent more time in the beautiful Transylvania towns with Covinnus!

We took a private 9-day, 8-night, tour of Bucharest and Transylvania arranged by the spectacular Valentina. Her assistance with developing an itinerary, arranging hotels, and finding a guide (Daniel and Valentina were booked) was unparalleled. She was incredibly organized and responsive throughout the planning process and during our trip. We missed our flight connection into Bucharest, delaying our arrival until well after midnight and yet Valentina was in constant communication throughout the day and night. The tour was well organized and each of the hotels she arranged were perfect. We toured Bucharest for 1 day and spent the rest of our time touring the beautiful countryside, fortified churches, castles, palaces, and charming towns of Transylvania. Our guide for the tour was Vlad Illie and he was wonderful. If you are looking for a company to take care of all your traveling needs in Romania, I highly recommend contacting Valentina at Convinnus. You will not be disappointed.

Valentina at Covinnus Travel arranged an amazing six-day private tour of Maramures and Bucovina for a friend and me. We traveled independently our first week in Romania, but knew we would have difficulty touring some areas less accessible by public transportation. Traveling with Covinnus our second week was the best decision we made. The itinerary Valentina planned was excellent and allowed us to see and do more than we ever could have on our own. At the same time, the itinerary was flexible enough to allow for some unplanned stops and for spending extra time in areas that interested us. Valentina was in frequent communication with information about the trip before we left and was very responsive to my questions. Highlights were visits to three painted monasteries, the UNESCO Heritage wooden church at Surdesti, the Painted Egg Museum and overnights at a farm stay in Bucovina and a family-run guesthouse în Maramureș, which both included delicious home-cooked meals.
Our guide and driver for the week was Serban Riga. Serban is an experienced guide who was friendly and knowledgeable. He handled all the logistics, translated for us, and went out of his way to make sure we got the most out of every stop. He also facilitated several special experiences including being invited into a wedding we happened upon in Maramures and eating lunch in the private dining room at a monastery. When we were leaving our farm stay and the farm's vehicle broke down that was supposed to carry us down a hill and across a stream to Serban's car, Serban even walked three miles with the farm's driver to retrieve another vehicle!
I highly recommend Covinnus and our guide Serban to anyone wishing to visit Romania in an up close and personal way.

My husband and I had the pleasure of touring Transylvania with Valentina for 8 wonderful days on a private tour. She is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, helpful, kind and a pure joy to be around. The tour was so well organized and she catered it to what we wanted to see. We visited amazing castles, fortified churches and fun little towns and she knew just how to avoid the crowds. Her personal stories really added to all the things we learned about Romania and its culture. We loved riding in their very nice new truck that took us to viewpoints others would miss. I pride myself on planning vacation itineraries and choosing great hotels with character, so leaving this to Valentina was hard for me. But let me tell you, I was blown away! All of the boutique hotels we stayed in were fantastic! So much character and the location could not be beat. This was the easiest and most relaxing travel experience we have ever had. Thank you for such a great time, Valentina. We had so much fun with you!

We just returned from our 15 day Romanian Tour in Depth and had an absolutely wonderful time. The wonderful itinerary took us to the cities, mountains and seaside of this amazing country. We visited many churches and castles (including many UNESCO sites) with beautiful frescoes and paintings, both inside and out, that rival those in what we think of as traditional Europe. We had an amazing visit to the Salina Turda salt mine and a breathtaking drive through the bicaz gorge.
One of our favorite areas was the Maramures region in the northern part of the country. We stayed in a traditional guest house where we had the most delicious home cooked meals and had the chance to meet and talk with our wonderful hostess. The days spent in this area were fascinating and and the scenery beautiful
Our guide/driver, Roberto was a delight and we felt like we were traveling with a friend. He gave us detailed information about the various places we visited, provided excellent restaurant suggestions, and added additional interesting stops to our itinerary when there was time.
Many people do not realize how much history and beauty Romania has to offer until they go to visit.
We cannot recommend taking a trip with Covinnus enough. What a great value for the cost.

In July 2022 we had the pleasure of taking a guided tour by Covinnus Travel of Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. Daniel, our tour guide for the two week adventure, was superb. He was entertaining as well as very knowledgeable of the history of all three countries. We were able to travel at our own pace without having to meet any preset schedule. We would certainly recommend Covinnus Travel and Daniel for any one interested in touring Eastern Europe. We will use their services again should we travel in their area.

We used Covinnus Travel for the Transylvania portion of our trip to Romania. Daniel who is the owner and our guide did a great job of putting together a custom itinerary that hit the sites and areas that we wanted to see. We don't usually use a tour company for Europe, however we felt with the time we had and the things we wanted to do and see, it would be best. Daniel did not disappoint he is very knowledgeable and knows all the best spots for some great photos. I would highly recommend Covinnus Travel if you are planning a trip to Romania.
