Built in 1891, this passage with glass ceiling is one of the reasons why Bucharest was called “Paris of the East”. It was almost abandoned when we visited it in February- a few people around and cafés were quite empty, but it’s very pretty and I think in warm season it must be very charming, when it’s busy. I think with a nice restoration it could be a fabulous place again.

This popped up on the tour maps as a place to go and see.

The yellow roof is missing several panels, and there is netting under it which is full of debris/bird droppings making it a bit of a disappointment.

Take a walk through if you happen to be there but not worth going out of your way to see

I have been to this landmark location in Bucharest many times. A covered alleyway bending around several buildings. The history is interesting and worth reading, but the passaj is the main attraction, lined with cafe's and a favored location to drink tea and smoke Nargillah. Any time I am in Bucharest, I visit the Passage, regardless of the weather. Most of the venues have indoor seating.

A nice place with some cafes and lounges, but small. The passage is quaint and it seems like a nice place to chill in the evening; it only gets started after noon. In the day there are tour groups coming through, and the passage is narrow and the tables take up a lot of space, so expect to rub elbows as you pass by. It seems like it could be a good place to sit down and work, write, or read a bit, but it seems more focused on the nightlife.

This passage has plenty of cafes and restaurants dotted along it. We came midday on a weekday and there wasn’t much going on, but it was nice not to have crowds of people coming through.

This would be a great place to come to get out of the rain as it’s all undercover, or just use it as a cut through to get to the other side.

The Macca Villacrosse Passage is one of Bucharest’s most well-known passageways. It is strikingly similar to ones you might see in Paris or Milan. It is an excellent place to photograph. It houses many bars, cafes/restaurants, jewelry and pawn shops.

As a tourist attraction it didn’t feel like really worth. It is a passage in the streets and then full of bar and cafes. This looks nice but during the day in the summer too hot to stay there. Just in casa, go and take a photo or a video. The pain is all hostess inviting you to check their places.

The Macca Pass - Vilacrosse!! One of Bucharest's most impressively hidden diamonds! An amazing arcade that is worth passing by. Here there are cafes and restaurants with good prices and nice environment. It’s worth going to see an excellent sample of Bucharest’s 19th Must in the evening for a drink!!

There's not a lot to see at Macca-Villacrosse Passageway. The ceiling is interesting, but as you walk through the forked Passageway, there are only bar-type establishments with wait staff trying to entice you to sit. It took more time to walk to Macco-Villacrosse Passageway than the minute it took to walk through it!
