My colleagues and I landed in Bucharest and met Adrian at the airport. I could immediately tell by his photographic knowledge of Romanian history that we had found the right guy to shepherd us along the Carpathian mountains from Bucharest to Brasov, Transylvania all the way to Iași.

Adrian glanced at our agenda and quickly suggested some changes. Our first stop would now be a massive salt mine in the small town of Slănic. I took Adrian’s word for it and I’m so happy I did.

We arrived and boarded a small van that descended through a dark tunnel that seemed to stretch on forever. After 15 minutes we arrived in the base of the mine, and it felt far more like more like a Bond Villian’s lair than a salt mine.

It was chilly, quiet and incredibly large. Our voices echoed for several seconds after speaking.

The entire experience was indeed restorative after a long flight, and was an unexpected but beautiful start to the trip.

We returned to the van and headed into the Carpathian Mountains, where we stopped in Sinaia – the home of Peleș Castle. It was constructed for King Carol I – Romania’s first king. It is massive (34,000 square feet with more than 170 rooms) and resplendent.

From there we traveled to Brasov, Transylvania where the Dracula myth comes from. We visited Bran Castle, which is said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. You can see why that would be the case. While it had a classic, regal feel to it – Bran Castle was certainly a bit creepy; in a good way.

Adrian filled us in and separated the myths from the reality and I was surprised at how close the two became.

I could go on and on about our other adventures, but you should just experience Romania for yourself.

There is no better guide out there, I assure you.

Great tour! I truly appreciated how Adrian communicated arrangements every step of the way. Florin, the guide, was superb! Very knowledgeable and friendly. This was my first (but not last) trip to Bucharest and Florin provided a great introduction to the city. The time flew!

What a fantastic experience. The tour consisted of a tour of the Slanic Salt Mines, Peles Castle and a ride in the cable car at the ski resort up at at Sinaia We could have gone the Monastery too but as we’d have such a wonderfully jam packed day we opted to travel back to Bucharest. Our Guide organised lunch at a great little restaurant too. He was super knowledgable and very entertaining. Overall it was a fantastic day. If you’re in Bucharest and fancy a tour then I would highly recommend.

Where do i even start on this trip! Romania surely did not ever cross my mind to visit and still i dont know how i ended here, however it was the best experience i have ever had and alot of this credit goes to Adrian!

Firstly, Adrian was very diligent in his response, details and the total costs. He set the right expectations from every angle, which made it much easier and comfortable for me!

The trip to Peles Castle, Sinaia, Brasnov was amazing! Worth it in every way. I was traveling on my own, so Adrian accompanied me to lunch and dinner. So this review is about Adrian, not Romania. I mean, Romania i am totally in love with and recommend everyone should visit.

Adrian- well he organised everything, structured everything to my taste, he was reasonable in his price, however his an outstanding character. I honestly felt i was traveling with my own brother! We connected, chatted, he explained the whole history, he even provided his perceptive and the factual/ fictual/ non factual stories, enabling me to make my own judgement.

He was caring, went out of the way, to the extent he made me feel like royalty. I was not use to that, so i am still dwelling on my tour with Adrian, so much thoughts to digest!

If your going to do Romania, you have to do it with Adrian, i just wish he could extend to other countries and make him my permanent travel guide! He seems to be the type that can connect to everyone and adapt to all styles, so trust me you wont go wrong!

Adrian, thanks for the laughs, stories and your attention to me! We are going to be friends! I can see that and look forward to booking you in Romania again! Thanks for making that 3 hour journey feel like 30mins, your stories were just what i needed!

God bless you mate!

Corresponding with Adrian was very easy and prompt. He quickly responded to any and all questions we had and coordinated everything, from the airport transfers (even 5:30 a.m. was no problem!) to planning our days and the guides/drivers. Unfortunately, Adrian was unavailable during our time in Romania but scheduled our five days with two amazing collaborators, Eugen and Cristi.

We really can't say enough about how warm, welcoming and easy-going they were to us. Instead of feeling like guides, it was more like hanging out with friends and family. There is absolutely nothing they will not do to make your trip enjoyable. They were so knowledgeable and proud (rightly so) of Bucharest and the Country, their pride in everything they showed us really came through. We learned so much about their past from personal stories and experiences, as well as through the many opportunities to tour the historical sites. Their cars were comfortable and clean and we were offered (and used) the Wi-Fi hot spot provided while in the car. This was a fantastic convenience as many hours were spent driving from the city to the countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bucharest and exploring the villages, and even going off-road a few times. Their driving skills are very impressive :)

As the website points out the tour options, we won't list them all here as Adrian will customize whatever you want. However, we will suggest if you want to do the "Living Stones" tour, try to combine it with the Salt Mine and Muddy Volcanoes as they are located around the same area and are a couple of hours from Bucharest. It will save you driving so much over two days. If you want to really be in nature, the Living Stones was quite the experience as getting up there you will drive through a small village and hike through a beautiful forest. It may be muddy so wear old shoes (Adrian will provide rubber boots as an option). Also, if you can do an overnight in Sighisoara, it is well worth it. The landscapes of Transylvania and the Carpathian mountains are stunning and serene.

Our time in Romania far exceeded our expectations, and we owe our memorable experience here to The Fixers and especially Eugen and Cristi. They really took care of us, were genuinely invested in ensuring we had a great time and left with a positive impression of Romania. If you want to be taken care of like family while on holiday, look no further.

I was a group of six people who booked a one day tour with the Fixers. Our guide was Christi. He was excellent, providing lots of information about Bucharest and Romania. The tour included a tour of Peles castle, Bran castle, the city of Brasov and Sinaia. The only disappointment was that we wanted to tour a winery and do wine tasting but the winery could not accommodate our request as they had a large bus tour visiting. I would recommend the Fixers to anyone visiting Bucharest and wanting a full day of sightseeing outside Bucharest. They do not require any payment in advance but full payment at the end of the tour. They are flexible and accommodating to specific requests.

We had a fabulous time in Romania and Adrian was very knowledgable and
helpful plus punctual at all times. There was flexibility in the
itinerary which was important when travelling with children and frequent
changes of mind. Overall the trip went very well and Adrian was with us
for four days which included day trips to Constanta and Sinaia.

We just came back yesterday from the most amazing tour of Romania, planned, organized and executed flawlessly by Adrian Rusu from "The Fixers",

Adrian who speaks fluently English, is an extremely nice, polite, and correct person, with a high level of knowledge in all aspects of Romania, from it's History, to it's culture, traditions, and most importantly, the interesting places to visit that are known and unknown, like small authentic villages out of the regular touristic path, and having us see and taste the real Romania!
Adraian made every possible effort to make our tour as enjoyable as possible, and it was clear to us that he was getting great satisfaction from achieving that goal.
Thank you Adrian !

Adrian was very attentive and knowledgeable. A real fixer, he took the time to arrange everything we asked for and work around our schedule. His English is very good and told us a lot about Romanian history and the places we visited.
