About
Located in the Old Town (but luckily away from the crowded streets), Abel's has recently opened and offers a wide selection of Romanian, Argentinian,Spanish, New Zealand and South-African wines and the list is growing. It's quite small and cozy and decorated with a familiar touch, which makes it the perfect setting for meaningful conversations around such "magic potions".

- tapirlove47 contributionsExcellent hidden gem!We went to Abel’s today and had a great experience. Staff were very knowledgable about the wines, particularly local wine. There is a good selection of Romanian wines available which are high quality. We also had a mixed platter of meats and cheese which was delicious. Total for 2 glasses of wine, mixed platter, one lemonade and sparkling water was 139lei (£24), which we felt was excellent value. The mixed platter was really large and filling. Highly recommended we will be returning!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 17, 2023

I went on a Saturday so their regular tasting wasn’t available in the evening. It didn’t matter as the owner was super friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended a couple glasses of wine based on my taste profile. He was explaining the wine from various regions of Romania. Food menu was small but served its purpose of pairing with the wines. It was an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended if you enjoy wine. Romanian wines are underrated.Visited September 2024Traveled soloWritten September 23, 2024

A wonderful evening at Abel’s getting our wine geek on. The team took our reservation from the UK and we had our table all night. The wine selection is huge, good selection by the glass, and they are real advocates of the Romanian industry. The team had very deep knowledge of the viniculture locally. Food is meat or cheese platters plus bruschettas and nibbles. Excellent place. Recommend!

Wine shop with excellent quality local wines. Dario, the owner, puts passion into his work by going directly to the cellars to choose the wines to offer to his customers. It is not a restaurant but a wine shop that can also prepare platters of cold cuts and cheeses. So, to taste interesting wines, Dario's wine shop is the right place for a break during your visit to Bucharest. It is located in the Lipscani area, not in the confusion but in a quiet area and a little away from all the other places. I highly recommend a visit to this wine shop where Dario's patience and knowledge will surely please you.

Very impressed by this small place on a not so crowded street where I found a large selection of very good wines at excellent price. Our host was also a very pleasant guy. They also have a variety of food items, as opposed to many other wine bars - we had a mixed charcutery platter and it was awesome. Will surely comeback here!

I start from the assumption that, for better or for worse, I almost never write reviews.
But for Abel's wine bar I will make an exception.
Super accessible area of Bucharest. The venue is relatively small and intimate, ideal for a quiet evening. Very extensive wine list, with options by the glass and a vast choice of local and foreign labels.
Super note of merit goes to Paolo who lends himself to pleasant conversations and useful advice for the customer. Literally an open book but leaving room for the customer's taste and choice.
Well done, well done! 🇮🇹

We went to Abel's not for an event but just to drink and taste some local wine. The manager is very competent and knowledgeable, he was able to explain the local wines to us and advise us best according to everyone's tastes, letting us taste various proposals until we arrived at the "right choice". Really nice and quality place.

A great way to spend an evening on the outskirts of Bucharest old town. We enjoyed some great wines and a delicious cheese and cold meats platter during a wine tasting. Our host was very knowledgeable about the local wines we were drinking and also took time to chat to us in what was a really relaxed atmosphere. Some great whites and reds, Avincis being my favourite. Managed a couple of glasses of it after the tasting to finish off a great evening. Would highly recommend this place if you would like a good glass of wine in Bucharest.

Had such a great afternoon with Dario - he was a great guide who knew so much about Romanian wine and the different wine regions. We learnt loads about the different regions and found some firm favourites. Would 100% recommend!

What a great little find! Visited Bucharest for a weekend, & ended up spending both Saturday & Sunday evening here. The waiter/owner was very knowledgeable, and introduced us to some fantastic Romanian wines. We also order the cheese platter which was also excellent. It was also reasonably priced The service and atmosphere were second to none. If we come back to Bucharest - we will definitely come back here. Thank you.
