La Traviata

Excellent production of La Traviata in Bucharest. Both set and performance were of international standard. Another reason to be in Romania.

Bucharest Opera is not very big but is very well preserved and maintained. Is a nice place, it deserves a visit just for arhitecture but the acts are nice too.

We saw the opera La Boheme. It wad great. We sat in the 4th row, in the middle. We booked in advance 3 weeks before the show through the opera website. It was an easy way to have the good seats. The seats were very comfortable and the opera building is very elegant and well preserved. The price was very... More

The building is really great. We went there for Barbiere di Sevilla opera show. All was exceptional. Good artists. A place to come back again.

Went to a ballet there with my ten-year old kid -- it successfully captured our attentions. The interiors are magnificent, with lots of lights and Rococo style decor, without being too overwhelming. Good sound rendition, good visuals. The staff is polite and expeditious. Overall, a pleasure for a grown-up who loves opera and a certain opportunity for kids to get... More

To the opera one May evening to see Giselle performed by the National Opera Ballet. But to get there one must first participate in the grim chaos of Bucharest rush hour traffic in a temperature which, by seven p.m., was still showing as 34 degrees centigrade. Rush hour is not how Piata Unirii’s mangled scrum can accurately be described, no... More

I am a frequent spectator for the regular Bucharest National Opera shows during the normal season. So last week, when I saw a commercial for the “Grand Prix de l’Opera“ event , I was more than happy to attend because, during summer, artists are on holiday and there are no shows. The event was defined as having a “free entrance”... More

I recently watched the opera Carmen by Bizet, in the interpretation of the Bucharest National Opera soloists. A great show and very well staged. The building work has excellent acoustics and seating placement (stal, lodge and gallery) make the show can be watched in excellent conditions.
