Although not massive, this museum gave a really good picture of Bucharest through the ages. Well worth a visit especially for the architecture of the building itself and an added bonus, on Wednesday evenings there are free classical concerts of substantial quality.
This museum is full of information about the history of Bucharest, but suffers from the usual style of corridors and small rooms stuffed with facts, and no place to sit down. For me the best bit was being able to watch lots of short films...More
The museum is very interesting and covers all of Bucharest's history. There are also a lot of old maps which, from my point of view, were very interesting and showed how small and underdeveloped was Bucharest only 100 years ago.
The municipal museum is located in a beautiful old palace, the Palatul Sutu. We paid 5 Lei per person to enter. It is a small museum with and old decor. The exhibition is all about the history of Bucharest and we found it very interesting.
No better backdrop could be for the engaging history of the city. The facade of the Sutu Palace is outstanding while the interior, from the elegant staircase onwards, is gorgeous.

The large building and architecture are very impressive. As a long building looks better from afar
The museum charts the history of the country and the city
Did not get much time to look around as it closed earlier than I expected
Museum is located in old historic of Bucharest. Historic and nice ornate decoration, the museum is a timeline of city history through the ages.
Some nice exhibits and accompanying photographs make it a very enjoyable and interesting museum to visit. Recommended
