There was even a concert practice going on whilst we sat quietly in the seated area. This was an unplanned bonus!

We were so impressed with the Athenaeum - we were fortunate to visit it on Easter Sunday, when it was open to the public. The inside is breathtaking

We visited by chance. You go through a side door and are greated informally by the Janitor. After paying your 10 lei you can wander around and sit for as long as you like in the theatre. The interior is wonderful. Worth a visit.

The Romanians certainly know how to build beautiful buildings and this is no exception. Totally amazing and impressive. Nestled amongst more modern buildings with a delightful quiet garden in the front with some beautifully designed seats. Well worth a visit - just a pity it...More

If in the area it is worth a look. Nice garden outside and nice photos opportunity. Didn't see inside. Close to old town.

Loved this building. It is strikingly beautiful building inside and out and also has a great mural around the concert hall which summarises the Romanian history in a pictorial way. Strongly recommend a visit to the Romanian Athenaeum building as part of any Bucharest visit.

The is well worth calling into during your time in Bucharest. The building is really impressive, with some fascinating wall paintings. You can wander about and admire the lavish architecture and designs. I would have liked to have gone to a concert there one evening...More

If whish to avoid the commonly used pubs & night-bars from Bucharest old town, a quite good opportunity: a mixture of best quality's events and building architecture
