About
Let me show you Bucharest off the beaten path! Embark on a private tour - in English, German or French - and discover beautiful churches hidden behind ugly communist blocks, small museums and private collections of paintings and a bewildering mix of Neo-Romanian, Modernist and late nineteenth century French style buildings. Visit the last caravanserai in this part of Europe and enjoy a glass of mint lemonade in the vibrant Old Town Center.

We went on a tour with Laura to look at Hidden Bucharest. I was many times in Bucharest as well as born there and I definitely was impressed to find the gems that Laura presented and hear the explanations about various places. The tour with Laura was very enjoyable, at our own pace and she adjusted the tour according to our preferences. She is very knowledgeable, pleasant person and I highly recommend her for a visit in Bucharest in particular or Romania in general.
Her English is perfect and we really liked the landmarks she selected for us. It was very diverse and beautiful. It was a fantastic half day well spent with a very patient and friendly guide. Thank you for the lovely tour.

Alina took our group on an extremely informative and entertaining walking tour of Bucharest.. Some of the smaller places on this tour I would never have found on my own.

Alina took us on this 3 hr walking tour, visiting three synagogues and the Jewish theatre as well as showing us some intersting architecture . Her knowledge of the history of the Jews was very good and she was a very sociable. We def found this tour the highlight of our weekend visit and would def recommend it.

The tour guide was amazing, very knowledgeable.
It is a tour I recommend to everyone interested in discovering the sites that marked Jewish history in Bucharest. Coral temple synagogue built in 1866 marked me the most....

If I had any regrets about my food tour with Step by Step, it's that I didn't do it sooner during my trip to Bucharest. I did three city tours while I was in town...one more history, one more urban/art, and the 3rd and last this tour by Step by Step. Alex was BY FAR the best and most interesting tour guide of my three Bucharest guides. And having been on food tours in many cities now, I can say with confidence that she is extremely good at what she does. She knows her city extremely well and even when we passed locations I had already seen on my two other tours, she still managed to add new information. She was funny and informative and deeply deeply intelligent. A joy to spend time with

I LOVED our first stop -- a food "truck" on a busy commercial street -- and was hard-pressed to leave. The host at the food truck has a wonderful vibe to him and was lovely to talk to. (And a former Londoner!) I seriously asked if I could take home the leftovers on the plane with me, so delicious were they. I loved our walk down Victoriei, which I hadn't walked through before. Stopping by Eden, even if just to use the loo, was lovely. I definitely would want to come back to Eden with friends and hang out in the gardens. We also stopped at a more modern and hip shop that sells their own self-produced goods, plus a great place for eclairs. Ah and another highlight -- the sheep cheese/phyllo dough thingamajig which was delicious but I was so full, I couldn't do it justice.

Come hungry and come with your good walking shoes on! This is a great tour. Thanks, Step by Step!

I did the walking food tour and it was a lot of fun, informative, and generally a nice time. My guide was very knowledgable and enthusiastic and she spoke nearly perfect english. So, generally I was very happy except that I had signed up for the food tour, and was expecting to learn about and sample local food. I came hungry and the tour started with a lot of walking around and seeing sights around old town. A lot of time went by before any food happened, but as a general walking tour it was nice.

After a while, we stopped into a shop where they sold locally made foods and we got to sample a few things. It was good, and I picked up a gift or two, but I didn't really learn anything new or even try anything that was uniquely Romanian. Just some very good cheeses and meats. Finally, after a couple of hours we stopped at a small restaurant and the owner put out a very nice spread of foods including a bunch of Romanian favorites. Very nice - and I enjoyed it a lot although again we didn't really talk much or learn much about the food. Just a quick run-through of what it was, etc.

But, it was really fun and the dinner (despite the long wait) was very good. I think they run a really good operation and would recommend, but if you do the food tour be prepared - it's apparently just the regular walking tour with dinner thrown in.

We had a short Bucharest citytrip with a group of 13 people. The tour with Lauras " Bucharest step by step" is a must if you want to get a feeling about this pulsating city. We all got so much inside information and also so much fun, that we organized two days later another second tour . Thank you again Laura!!!! Dr. Klein, Germany

We arrived in at 3am and hadn't organized a tour, we emailed Laura asking if they had any street food or walking tours available- for that afternoon- lucky we were off peak! Laura took us on a brilliant tour a mix of the street food, hidden Bucharest and the best of Bucharest tours. We had a great afternoon seeing the sights of Bucharest and enjoying some tasty foods along the way!
We highly recommend this tour company. The price was very reasonable, one of the most reasonably priced tours we found and we enjoyed the street food component!
Highly recommend!!
Thank you Laura
