Attractive and well maintained cathedral
Nov 2019
This is an attractive and well maintained cathedral in the centre of Bucharest. There are a few other buildings in the enclave and there's a good view over to the palace of the parliament.

Very Nice Cathedral
Sep 2019
Is worth a visit to this attraction, just a slight uphill walk to get there. Interior has beautiful frescoes and golden icon works. Very large compared to the many other Biserica's throughout Bucharest. Nice courtyard with another former palace building next door. Nice view from the hill over parts of Bucharest too.

Worth a quick visit
Oct 2018
At walking distance from the Bucharest old town, on top of a small hill. The area of the cathedral is some sort of a complex of many religious buildings.

The cathedral itself is very beautiful inside but during our stay there was some grumpy old man who wasn't impressed about me taking photos of the decoration.

Terrific interiors
Aug 2019
Only a small walk uphill from the main Piatta Unirii is what it takes to reach this magnificent Church complex.
It's the seat and the main Church of Romanian Orthodoxy. Pretty simple, but very nice and elegant white exterior hides tremendous beauty and wealth of inside frescoes and golden iconography. One of Bucharest's highlights, do come visit.

Lovely cathedral
Sep 2019 • Friends
What a wonderful cathedral. Simple architecture on the outside. It Wow on the inside. Definitely worth the uphill walk on the cobblestone street lined with trees (very pretty walk). At first you see a si glue built, sing and I though oh wow, it’s really small and then You see the other structures and the cathedral. Beautiful murals and frescos and alter area. If in the area, take a walk to see it. To me it was worth it.

Great architecture in the city center

I particularly like this place during the night as it is quiet and peaceful. The building is recently refurbished and it looks very nice.

Worth walking up the small hill
Jul 2019 • Business
Up the Unirii Square one must ask for directions; it’s not far from it, probably 10 to 15 minutes walking distance but going up a small hill. The complex is worth to be seen, mainly the Patriarch’s Palace and the Cathedral. This last one is beautiful inside, also because the faithfuls praying contribute for the religious atmosphere. Enjoy!

Fabulous Church in a Peaceful Setting
Jul 2019 • Couples
For the time being this is the principal church of Romanian Orthodoxy. A huge and magnificent cathedral is being built near the People's House (Palace of Parliament), the world's second largest building and well worth seeing. The Patriarchal Cathedral is a very beautiful and well-maintained 17th century building. The interior is covered with frescos in the expected iconic style. We had a wonderful conversation with a young priest. This was the highlight of our visit in Bucharest.

Hidden Heart
Jun 2019 • Solo
This magnificent cathedral is the principal church and centre of the Orthodox Church in Romania (although I understand it will be succeeded by the huge Peoples’ Salvation Cathedral when it is completed in 2024, becoming the tallest/biggest Orthodox Church in the world). The Patriarchal Cathedral escaped the communist demolition programme. It sits on elevated ground adjacent to Piata Unirii but is only properly revealed when you climb the road up to the cathedral gates - hidden away from obvious view. Very imposing building and grounds with services broadcast in the grounds via loudspeakers. Serene place.

Stunning House of Worship with Beautiful Surrounding Grounds
Jun 2019 • Couples
We walked from our hotel in the Lipscani area of the old town -it took about 15 minutes but was well worth it. The Cathedral sits at the end of a long manicured boulevard and even though the sky was gray, it was so pretty with the gold frescoes inside and out. A popa and nun were arranging flowers at the front of it but they had no issue with me entering. The relics of Eastern Orthodox Saint Dmitri of Bulgaria's Basarbovo Monastery are housed here and so after visiting, we made a fun day trip to see his monastery in Bulgaria.
