I lived in Bucharest for 19 years and had no idea it had such great stories to tell. Took the tour with a few friends and spent 3 or 4 hours wandering the old streets of the city. We discovered there's a public bath functioning since the 19th century in the center of Bucharest, saw otoman and modernist architecture and had a lovely lemonade in a garden. Over all, a pleasant way to spend a Sunday.

Hi there, It was really great introducing you to the creative quarter of Bucharest with its picturesque and quaint little streets. That is perhaps the most important feature of Bucharest and its eclecticism. It surprises you, it's alive and a fun city to live in! We have great times showing the true nature of the city both to our guests from around the world, but also to those who live in Bucharest, the locals. And that is why our tours have also a social impact, since we aim to create a bridge between our guests and different local communities. It is truly a rewarding feeling when we create a strong link between the two sides! :) Looking forward to catching up with you next time! Best regards, Local Hosts Team

The guide, Mircea, really went above and beyond to make sure I had a great afternoon in Bucharest. He was very knowledgeable and gave me an excellent insight into life in Bucharest. He even made sure I got to my hotel safely at the end of the afternoon, as well as send me a follow up email with YouTube clips of things we had discussed. He really did a great job and I look forward to his tours when I, hopefully, return to Romania.

Hi Eleni, Thank you so much for taking the time to drop your review! It's been great meeting you and showing you different parts of Bucharest! Now all that is left is for you to return and perhaps we will have a chance to do the tour with Mogosoaia and Snagov Monastery! :) I'm sure that we will meet again next year! All the best, Mircea

The TVR television station is not normally open to the public, so do yourself a favor and put yourself in Mircea's capable hands for a fascinating tour. You will learn things about the Romanian revolution in December 1989, the history of televised broadcasting, and Mircea's personal stories about growing up in Bucharest. He is passionate about sharing interesting information as well as some tasty local cuisine and good conversation. Bring your camera, your curiosity and your walking shoes. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Hi there, Big, big, thank you for this awesome review! It was a great day with loads of fun, and a tasty lunch in our local secret tavern! :) The TVR will remain one of our dearest experiences since it deserves to be explored and appreciated by locals, expats and tourists alike! :) It was a privilege meeting you and we shall catch up with the next opportunity next year! Best regards, Mircea

I have been living abroad for a few years now and in one of my vacation back home I brought some friends with me and we decided to try out a tour for them, which is not really our first option since I like to think I know my city! Local Hosts has proven us that Bucharest is a city with many secrets and unknown old tales. I have now a better understanding of the background of the city, we explored beautiful parks and the oldest cemetery, while enjoying a traditional meal and a cold beer. Highly recommended for people who like tours with a personal touch and passionate guides!  Thank you for a great day!

Hey John, Thanks a lot for taking the time to drop your review! Hard times that we're going through right now with the corona story, but we really appreciate the vote of confidence. Let's hope that things will return back to normal soon and we can get another chance to explore through the quaint little streets of Bucharest, discovering even more hidden gems. It's been great meeting you and sharing the communism full story, and hope you've enjoyed exploring Fort 13 Jilava, the former military fort and communist prison. Safe travels ahead and my best reagds, Mircea Local Hosts

First of all, right of the bat it feels like going on a road-trip with your super knowledgeable friend. Mircea was super attentive and took us exactly to the things we wanted to see, and then some. His flexibility and ability to adjust the tour to the person on the go is just amazing! His knowledge of Bucharest and Romania in general is extraordinary. You can tell he's truly passionate about what he does. He had tips pretty much for anything, even things that aren't typically on anyone's vacation list (like where to find the best street art/ruins for photography). I can't think of anyone better to explore the city with. Can't wait to go on another adventure :)

Although I live in Bucharest and know the city quite well, I decided it was worth going to the Bellu Cemetery / Museum with a guide, Mircea was able to show me another face of the city and to arouse my interest to find out more about the city in witch I live daily, to transpose myself with his stories in a part of Bucharest and in historical moments of the city too little known to me.
Thank you Mircea, you are a great guide, I do not know how time went by.
I can drink a cofee anytime with you just to find out more about this peculiar city we live in.

Hey Zigy, Thanks for joining and taking the time to drop your feedback. Very glad to find that locals are re-discovering Bucharest through complicated history files & its vintage stories! :) Indeed, a great day out and I'm sure we'll get to explore more soon! Cheers, until next time, Mircea

Again another brilliant tour with Local Host. This tour offers another perspective of the hidden treasures of Bucharest and has a very groovy vibe. Really well planned tour..loved the snack, drinks and the cool places we‘ve discovered.

Hi there, Super nice to discover your feedback and happy that you've enjoyed our second stroll this time around the Creative Quarter of Bucharest. We love it when we have returning guests looking to discover other parts of the city, especially, since in the past Bucharest was treated solely as an entrance gate towards Transylvania with few guests allowing a day or two to discover it's unknown and cool areas. I sure hope we will have our third opportunity, perhaps, next time we could try the Wine Tour? :) Till next time, Mircea

We thought we know Bucharest..but we learned a lot of new things about the history of the city and some celebrities which belong to the history of the city. Mircea is the perfect guide..fun, entertaining and very careful to the small details. He really made the difference! It’s awesome to still be able to discover the old Bucharest and at the same have a guide who talks to you and not just recites the story.

Hey there, It's been a pleasure showing you around Bucharest and its many layers of history. And yes, this tour is special since it gives special access to explore an old superb building, but also passes through the less known parts of the city where you get a real feel of the urban culture and its different communities. Hope we get another chance of catching up and exploring other neighbourhoods and their local stories. Till next time, Mircea
