Horrors of Communism - Half Day Tour with Visit to a Communist Prison

Horrors of Communism is the only tour that offers you the opportunity to visit a former communist prison, one with some of the worst conditions in the country, initially built as a fort for the protection of Bucharest. In order to make sure you know all the details about how terrible communism was in Romania, you will meet your guide at the Palace of Parliament and discuss about how people were starved, arrested, followed by the Secret Police and other tortures out of the imaginary.
The guide will also read confessions of the ones that lived during those times and the ones that survived the communist prisons.
After that, you will be taken by car to Fort 13, found in Jilava, where you will go through the functional prison built in the 80s in order to reach the old part which is now a monument. You will be able to see different categories of cells where prisoners where locked, the small yard where they were taken out, the black room that was used for psychological torture.

Sweet Bucharest - Coffee & Sweets Tour

Are you a lover of coffee and sweets? You will find out that Romanians are too. The coffee culture is increasing in Bucharest especially being represented by speciality coffee and we give you the opportunity to test some of them, and to sample cold brew or hot coffees that we love. Ofcourse, we will not forget about sweets and we will stop and eat at least three types of traditional or famous sweets for our city: a traditional sweet "coliva" (rare to buy, that we cook mainly for funerals), an invented cake Joffre (made at the beginning of the 20th century) and a french eclair (yes, they are famous, among the best in Europe).
Between tastings, you will visit architectural landmarks and find out interesting stories about how coffee was introduced in Romania and how we suffered without it during communism and also stories of how we like our sweets or how we cook them.
Expect a gift at the end!
