No visit to Romania would be complete without ticking off Transylvania, where ancient castles are set against backdrops of dramatic rolling hills. See the best of the region without having to worry about car hire or navigation on a day trip from Bucharest, which offers a great introduction to local history for first-time visitors.

While in Bucharest, enjoyed seeing the Lupa Capitolina monument. I have always enjoyed the story of Romulus and Remus. If you are not familiar with this story, please read about it, then you will enjoy seeing the statue all the more. They have done a nice job with this one, located in the tourist area for everyone to enjoy.
