You will undoubtedly visit this area at least once when you are in Chisinau - its the better kept part of the city (in front of the parliament house). Its quite small and there is no opportunity to visit the top but there is plenty going on in the park nearby. When we were there it was providing the backdrop to some easter celebrations so you will probably find plenty to do, even if you are just stopping for a moment to take a photo.

The arch is small, and I have no idea what the "triumph" is, but it is a very cool structure that is interesting to see. However, the best thing about the arch is actually the area that it is in. The arch is just one of many beautiful structures and other things in that area. It is a nice addition to a very interesting area.

The Russian Triumphal Arch in Kishinev was built in honor of Russia's brilliant victory in the war against the Ottoman Empire in 1829. In honor of this event, the famous Triumphal Gate in Moscow was also erected, and although the Kishinev arch is significantly inferior to it in scale and monumentality, for a provincial town on the outskirts of the country this is a grandiose structure. Earlier, commemorative tables with the names of the heroes who liberated Moldavia from the Romanian occupiers were installed on the arch, but later the monument was repeatedly desecrated, including by hanging the Romanian flag. Today the monument is in a rather deplorable state (as well as the whole of Kishinev), however, the arch is a local masterpiece of architecture and is definitely a must-see for all visitors to the city.

If you're in Chisinau, the chances are that you'll pass by here at some point - it's right opposite the Government House, at the top of the Central Park, close to the cathedral.

It's fairly small compared to other triumphal arches, but it's still a sight worth seeing. It seems to be the backdrop for a lot of events in the city - when we were there, they were setting up an open air concert in front of it and it was also the finish line for the city marathon too.

It is a symbol of the city and while smaller than other similar ones, it has nice architecture and it's a good, accessible place to take photos. Took a few good photos, but it took forever to get the cables out. A lot of cables everywhere, yay for Photoshop.

Well, it's for sure worth a look if you're passing by, but I don't consider it to be a prime sight in town. It's on the main street, so you will eventually pass by during a stay in town.

In the same park as the Nativity Cathedral the Triumphal arch was built in 1840 to commemorate the overthrow of the Ottoman Turks by the Russian Empire in 1828. big for it. The monument and clock were restored in 1973.It is built of White stone and is aesthetically very pleasing. It is much squarer than other arches I have seen.

Built by the Russians during their first rule of this city after they broke it from Moldavia principality. Stands here to recognize a victory of theirs in one thr many wars they fought to get to Constantinople, reclaim the Byzantium heritage and own black sea straights. Stands well in the city architecture, but it's a bad symbol.

For me, this was the one major attraction in Chișinău I had to see and visit. It’s an impressive structure with a large flag and clock face to one side. It is dedicated to the Russo-Turkish War. A must photograph!

Good photo opportunity through the arch, especially if you have blue sky day. Classic Near most lodging and easily walkable.
