This statue is one of the main symbols of Moldova and is depicted on their banknotes. From a distance it seemed to me that this was a statue of a nun making an indecent gesture. Apparently, the sculptor was not distinguished by outstanding talents, since the spectacle is very sad for such an important symbol. As the guide explained to me, this is an image of some Moldovian king who fought with the Turks and Romanians and was friends with the Russians. It's strange that they haven't torn it down yet.

Very nice park to have a walk, read a book and relax. There are plenty of monuments, some Communist, some with cultural relevance, as well as flowers, fountains and other things you can expect to find in a park. Worth taking a break from the big city inside the park.

We are walking here almost every day with a daughter! It’s a charming old park, with a lot of coffee shops and ice cream stalls. Some days it’s too crowded, on weekends mostly, but there’s enough place for everyone.

Lovely walk through Stefan cel Mare Park, named after a king from 500 years ago that won against the Turkish (if I've remembered right). Seriously impressed that they have charging points, all working, behind the park benches. For a country that has a very low average/median income, they seem to be more technologically advanced in some ways that Australia.

Beautiful park, on a sunny friday afternoon there were elderly people dancing typical moldovan songs and my friend this is a tradition. Beautiful popup small cafes are around the park with own decorations. I recommend!

Pleasantly surprised at the condition of these landscaped gardens, pretty colourful flower arrangements and scatted monuments throughout. The large ornately designed water fountain wasn’t in operation at the centre of the park but nevertheless the park certainly exceeded my expectations and is a joy to explore.

I was lucky to visit the park on a very sunny day end of September. It is very close to the city center with nice bike/walking paths around a lake where people are fishing and kayaking.

Chisinau has a good amount of green in the city center. Two large parks included. Easily walkable from nearby lodging.

A wonderful park named for a great king who helped the people. Even in the winter it was quite lovely to walk through and see.

I have visited this park for the second time, first in 2014 and again now in 2016. Its a beautiful small park. Ice cream sellers and beer and all you need around. cafeterias and Restaurants around. For us it was easy to communicate as my wife is Moldovan. The park is pretty and safe for all, the gardening done to the plants is very good too. Highly recommended!
