We were a family group of women who toured Croatia and Slovenia with Active Tours - Hello Croatia.
From the beginning, Marko was extremely attentive to our needs and put together a package which was perfect for the 6 of us. He was very responsive prior to the trip and made it a seamless effort to organize.
Our tour guide/driver Tin was perfect for our group. He was always there to help out, flexible, on time and funny. He made great recommendations for food and activities for us to do on our own. The city/site specific guides were knowledgeable and provided a great deal of information on the city and area.
We were extremely happy with the accommodations.
If you are looking to have a more personal and tailored to your travel needs, this is the tour company for you.

We can’t speak highly enough of Active Tours, organised by Marko and executed by our guide Vanja; the “Taste of Croatia” tour was perfect! This culinary tour took us from Zagreb to Dubrovnik with added days to include island-hopping from Split and a day on Korčula Island. The regional experiences over Istria, Lika and Dalmatia were exceptional. We sampled many delicious treats such as fresh oysters, cured meats, cheeses, Peka via private cooking class, and many delightful wine tasting stops along the way. All of this was balanced with natural sights and breathtaking scenery amongst many other hidden gems Croatia has on offer!
We could not have asked for a better private guide than Vanja. He was amazing, knowledgeable, patient, thoughtful, and so much fun to be with! We always felt safe in his hands as he drove us across the country regaling us with tales, both historical and myth. Vanja’s love for food and country was obvious as he took us to local spots and scenic locations, his suggestion always well received, and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. Special thanks to Vanja for making our Croatia trip so memorable and enjoyable, particularly the visit to my parents’ hometowns. Definitely heartwarming!
We would recommend Active Tours to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in Croatia!

Marko was an amazing find!
We gave him our wish list and he made it into an amazing reality! Everything was seamless on our personalised self drive tour - instructions were clear and everything he organised was superb - accomodation, trips, guides, etc

This was our first time visiting Croatia and it delivered with Amazing views and vistas, The Adriatic Sea, pristine medieval cities and amazing topography. Active Tours (Hello Croatia Tours) delivered and made the trip a success with punctuality and reliability, flexibility, comfortable transportation, guide for the entire trip plus local guides and great accommodations. Great memories, no regrets!

Not sure it gets much better than this. The both of us are seasoned travellers but this was something special. Twelve days through the Balkans with Igor and it was just fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. He set out to ensure we had the best possible experience and we were never dissappointed.
If you get the chance, do this tour.

We spent two weeks in Balkans recently, organized by Marco. We covered a huge area around Balkan countries. Everything was just awesome- nature, people, food, excursions… Our guide Tin, he is very knowledgeable about everything and very friendly. I really enjoyed this trips and hoping to come back again soon !

To start out with, given the covid situation, I was very apprehensive and anxious when I began planning this trip. Although, I had never met Marko previously, his calmness and confidence over emails and phone calls allayed my fears and brought down my anxiety levels very quickly.
We toured for 8 days covering 4 countries (Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia) in October 2021.
All the arrangements Marko made along the way perfect whether, it were the hotels or the local cuisine that he arranged for us (gained a few pounds along the way). In addition to the excellent local city tour guides he arranged for us, he himself educated us about the history and culture of the region as we drove along. Immensely knowledgeable and articulate.
Thanks to his amazing personality he quickly became a part of our family. Once he knew we liked to try the local fare he would stop the van often to pick up local snacks which otherwise we would never have known or eaten. Delicious.
We all loved the tour, the fascinating countries with their varied histories, architecture and culture. We fell in love with the natural beauty of Croatia, whether it was the stunning, enchanting and ‘out of this world’ watefalls of Plitvice Lakes National Park or Rastoke, a millers village just south of Zagreb or the fascinating cities of Split and Dubrovnik and everything in between. Being GOT fans we ended up retaining more of that than the actual history of the region.
Just a well arranged tour and tour guide. I would not hesitate to arrange another tour with him and recommend him a 100% to anyone interested in visiting that region. You just cannot go wrong.
Thank you Marko for a fantastic trip, all the best to you and your organization and look forward to more adventures in the future.

My partner & I didn’t know much about Croatia other than we wanted to visit in July 2023, so we contacted several local tour companies for ideas. Hello Croatia Active Tours was the first to reply and couldn’t have been more helpful. From the start it was obvious they know the country intimately.
Marko was very professional with his suggestions and quick to provide us with ideas when ever we altered our schedule along the way. He even offered his services to help us resolve an annoying cancellation issue we had in Italy.
Our tour guide, Igor was brilliant. He is so passionate, knowledgeable and patient. We can’t praise his services and indeed the man himself enough, he made our 10 day journey through a beautiful country informative and so enjoyable.
We have no hesitation in recommending Hello Croatia Tours, I wish there were more companies with the same efficiency and trustworthiness.

Had a fun and memorable trip of a lifetime in Croatia. Marko is very kind and considerate. Everything is settled in from best hotels, car, restaurant reservation and places to visit. Hotel booked were all nice and fancy, friendly staff. Car always smells good and clean. Restaurants where Marko took us were one of kind serving delicious food. He's very patient with us, while we're taking our time buying souvenirs and taking pictures. I will recommend active tours to my friends and colleagues. It's the best if you want to explore croatia. And he sticks with the schedule and always on time. Never a dull moment, always talking and having conversation with us, sharing about his family, football and funny experiences from his childhood in zagreb, and letting us sleep in the car on roadtrips haha. And the best part, we got to celebrate his bday! The other tour guides Gita and Nika were very nice and kind also. Gita is very animated while talking and always smiling with her eyes, also being expressive. Nika is very confident and also good conversationalist. Very knowledgeable of their history and smart women. Thanks Marko and your team for an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. 😀

My husband and I were fortunate enough to explore Croatia with Marko in early June 2022. We were celebrating a birthday and taking our first trip together since welcoming a new baby. Starting in Zagreb, we spent 8 days traveling from there to Split and Dubrovnik with shorter trips throughout to Slovenia, Brac island, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. Plitvice Lakes, olive oil tasting, and a home cooked meal in Bosnia and Herzegovina were just some of the highlights on an all-around wonderful trip. And we couldn’t have asked for a better guide to the area — Marko made sure our days were equally active and relaxing, shared stories, history and insights about the area, and introduced us to regional foods, drinks, and other hidden gems. It felt more like traveling with a very knowledgable friend than taking a structured tour. We would highly recommend Active Tours!
