I expected much more from this street given the reviews I had read. Not a great range of shops and most can be found in any reasonable sized city or sell the same type of expensive jewellery as everywhere else in Croatia. We struggled to find anywhere appealing to eat and ended up eating elsewhere.
I really don't the appeal that others talk about.

You will find a large number of stores here, all in one place. Zara, Pandora, Ecco, Kraš chocolate bar, Calzedonia, large number of jewelry stores, footwear stores, cafes, restaurants. Make sure to visit the Vincek ice cream shop and try the delicious ice cream (and cakes), one of Zagreb's best.
Just like Mariahilfer Strasse in Vienna. ;)

Great shopping area. Walked up and found numerous reasonably priced boutiques. Also had some higher end shops too. Very fun. Also had bakeries and hot food along the way!

Ilica is a classic main street, similar to those you can find in other big European cities. It's very long and runs from Ban Jelačić Square westwards through the half of Zagreb.

There are countless shops of various trademarks, numerous restaurants, cafés, etc. It is used by both cars and trams.
If you come to Zagreb in order to go shopping you certainly shouldn't miss this busy street!

Seems like most smaller European cities have a street like this - the longest one in the city with lots of stores, cafes, restaurants. etc. Some of the stores are typical stores you see everywhere but still it is always fun to walk down these streets to learn more about the city. At any rate, it is kind of hard to miss the street when you are going to various attractions so take a few minutes and stroll and enjoy.

I like walking Ilica because it has all the shops I need from winter coats, to shoes, to sundries and sports wear. Trams run its length and pedestrian streets connect with it. take your time and enjoy the experience.

Nice , clean , lively broad street with comfort-walkable pavement , you cannot be in Zagreb & not visit this street. Well- stocked , & manged shops of different sorts can meet your shopping hunger at reasonable price. Many eateries , kiosks, parlours around it abound. A days outing to this street will be well worth it !LL

Perfect for a walk or for shopping - it's Zagreb's longest street. When you're walking about, you will eventually end up on it - at least we always did.

One of the oldest and longest streets in Zagreb. It starts from main Jelačić square and goes all the way to the west part of the city. It is not a pedestrian zone as someone wrote exept the part closest to the square. All the trams going west pass throught Ilica. In the part near Jelačić square it is full of shops, bars, crafts and other tourist friendly stuff.
