We decided to visit the gardens as most of Zagreb in the downtown area seem to be under construction. We went down on Monday and admission was free. Otherwise it would have been only two euros and there was a lot of variety in the garden. Many areas were overgrown - it needs a good manicure! Dont miss the pond with the frogs. They sounded like birds chirping - very musica!

This is a lovely and fairly extensive garden (about three blocks) with a wide variety of plants from around the world. It is well laid out and includes some ponds at the west end. Generally good signage on the plants. It is a short walk south of the downtown area. Admission was free the day we went, otherwise there is a nominal charge.

The garden is very reasonably priced to visit and has some nice spaces. But when we went in mid-summer, not a lot was blooming. Thus, I can’t say whether it’s particularly beautiful normally. Some of the areas seemed hodge-podge and it was hard to meander through it without some planning. But, overall, a nice place.

I loved it. Everything was in blossom and the entree price was very cheap for the park. Every flower, tree, bush etc. had a lable to say what it is. Be ware of mosquitoes though, me and my husband got bitten a lot.

Located in the heart of the city center with lots of different flowers.
It is well worth to appreciate the beauty of the gardens and for free.

We visited as it was only a few moments walk from our hotel, The Esplanade. If you're staying there also, turn left out of reception, cross the road and the entrance is on your left as you walk down. Entrance is free.

There are many plants to see as you wander along the paths but some do look as if they need some TLC. There is a notice asking you to keep off the grass.

On the whole a nice place to visit with lots of photo opportunities. I can imagine it would be great for shade in the hotter months.

A nice botanical garden completely for free. Not so huge but still worth to see. Take a look to all the plants, but do not miss also the pond and the wooden bridge, they are very nice!

Big garden with really beautiful nature. We succeed to find lake there with small cute turtles.
It was also nice that they had a lot of benches located under the trees where people were sitting in peace and reading books.

A short walk away from the main part of town, this is a quiet sanctuary. It wasn't busy at all when we visited in October. Not many flowers at this time of year, but full of trees and bushes.
