    An interesting and worthwhile visit
A very interesting museum with 7 rooms showing the history and development of chocolate (in Croatian and English). It is very nicely presented with interesting and informative explanations. On arrival one is given a little box of samples which follow through and correspond to the different stages of chocolate development and there is also the chance to taste the three different types of chocolate. The staff are pleasant and helpful and there is a small shop as well.
Hi, Your kind words about our museum are really appreciated. We love making our visitor’s days and we can’t wait to have the opportunity to make you smile again! Thanks for visiting us! Kind regards! Muzej čokolade Zagreb

Fascinating chronological and geographic history of Chocolate, with unlimited melted chocolate to try!
This museum totally exceeded my expectations! I had thought it would be a fairly childish museum where you could try a few chocolates! But far from it, it is a mine of fascinating information regarding chocolate production through the ages and around the world. Upon entry you are given a box with 6 draws each containing something edible along with a wooden spoon. Each room takes you chronologically through the history of chocolate and you taste something different from each draw as you go. In one room you can use the wooden spoon to try unlimited melted milk, white and dark chocolate (it flows from a tap so perfectly hygienic). A lot of reading, and totally fascinating museum.

    Sweet Tooth.
If chocolate is presented to me, I will rarely turn it down. But if on my own, I will rarely elect to consume it. Never had a huge sweet tooth, but nevertheless, this museum intrigued me. First of all, I appreciate that they offer a small discount for handicapped people. I'll take it where I can get it these days. It's a fairly short visit, depending on how much you want to read. There is quite a lot of information... more than you ever wanted to know about chocolate. Your 'ticket' is a small box of chocolates, with the intention of tasting different types/phases of the chocolate process as you proceed through the museum. A great idea! But do read the information step by step so you don't consume the entire raw cocoa bean at the first step like I did....... Halfway through is the chocolate pump station, where you are "allowed" to take as much chocolate as you want and people were fiending over this station, greedy little scamps coming back for more and more liquid chocolate! Sheesh! It seems kid-friendly, which I found truly annoying, but I suppose those with families will appreciate. Some kids screaming and running around. The last thing you need is to give kids some sugar. Wonderful gift shop, if you like fancy looking stuff.

A place for all chocolate lovers
As a chocolate addict, this place was on my map for a while now. It did not disappoint! I liked the concept of the museum, with each room done in a distinct style, walking you through the history of chocolate, from ancient times up to the 21st century. It was fun to see all the advertising material, especially the original Mikado and Životinjsko carstvo :) The "ticket", consisting of a box with choclate samples is a nice touch, as well as the pump station with liquid chocolate. All in all, definitely recommend for all chocolate lovers!

    Great experience for chocolate lovers
Absolutely amazing and fun experience especially if you’re a chocolate lover. Price was a bit expensive for what is offered but it was fun. They gave you a box with chocolates separated in different compartments which belong to their own room in the museum that gives u info about the chocolate while eating it. Different fun games like smelling test and feeling test. Towards the end there are pumps with different types of chocolate that you are free to have as much as you like. Lovely and fun experience, definitely would recommend and will definitely visit again.

    An hour in chocholate land
About an hour-long programme, with seven beautifully decorated themed rooms. In each room you can taste the little chocolates hidden in your ticket. The posters and advertisements of the time were interesting from a marketing point of view. The gift shop is wonderful, if you want to take home sweets as a gift from Zagreb, this is the place to buy.

    Sweet and cute
The Chocolate Museum was one of the most fun and delicious activities in Zagreb. The entrance ticket is a box with small pieces of chocolate, and as you explore each room, you can taste the chocolate from the box. You also get a spoon to enjoy three types of melted chocolate. Everything is so sweet, colorful, and adorable. I highly recommend it with love... and sweetness!😋

This museum was excellent. First, our ticket was a rectangular box with a spoon, a cocoa bean and samples of chocolate that we had to try throughout the museum at designated spots in each of the 7 galleries. Second, it was really really well done. It traced the origins of cocoa beans, explained how they are harvested and prepared and how the beverage known as the drink of the gods by the ancient Aztec and Maya people came to Europe in the 16th century and later in the 19th century became edible in bars. Really fascinating. Our favorite place was a savoring station where you had to sample three different kinds of chocolate, white, milk, and dark, from little pumps--this is where the spoon came in handy. It was a really entertaining experience for kids too, and not just the sampling!

Made an unplanned visit to this museum after a friend said they were going. I was quite sceptical – Croatia isn’t known for its chocolate-making history! And, indeed, there is little here that’s Croatia-specific, aside from some fascinating Yugoslavian marketing materials in one of the final rooms. Still, it was an entertaining museum – six or seven “rooms”, progressing chronologically through different eras in the history of chocolate. Your “ticket” for the exhibition is a box with six small cocoa/chocolate samples, which you eat in each room, when instructed by information on the walls. It’s a fun idea, and it was certainly interesting to try the roasted cacao bean and 100% chocolate at the start. We all enjoyed the liquid chocolate pumps in the middle room. And, as I say, I found the 20th century marketing materials in the final few rooms fascinating. I’d say it’s about a 75/25 split of textual information (in both Croatian and English) and visual artefacts/photos, so might be a little boring for younger children. It’s up on the 1st floor – there’s a lift as well as stairs, and once you’re up, it’s all on one level, so pretty wheelchair-friendly. Toilets were ok, although we didn’t notice if they had an accessible toilet.

Located right in the centre, and about a 5 minute walk from where we were staying, this place is highly recommended. The entry ticket is actually a box with different chocolates to be tasted as various points in the museum. It also comes with a spoon to taste others. Very informative displays (in English too) and a warm welcome from the lady at reception/museum shop. Do not miss out on this.

The Chocolate Museum cannot be compared with the museum in Cologne. It's much clearer. Entry is relatively expensive, but you can get as much chocolate as you want.
At the entrance you get a tasting box that is tailored to the individual stations in the museum. There is something to try at each station.
You get a spoon for each station and you can try as many different types of chocolate as you want.
Very nicely done museum

I’ve seen candy stores masquerading as Chocolate Museums in a lot of cities. This one is the exception to the rule as it is a bona fide museum devoted to chocolate. There’s a lot of information and it is very well done. You sample chocolate throughout the tour which keeps your interest and adds to the experience. The women working the front desk were also very helpful.

Recommended.

The museum though small is still worth a visit.
The museum includes a lot of information about the origins of beans, making of chocolates, the evolution of chocolates from being currency to modern day luxury items. It even includes a brief history of all the major modern brands like Lindt, Hersheys, Kinder, M&M, Nutella etc. Though the part that keeps you most engaged is the entry box which has 6 boxes, each box to be opened when the room arrives. The box includes samples of beans, chocolates and tasting of hot chocolates.
This was interesting and very different. The staff was warm and friendly. The museum is very easy to reach just 5 mins walk from Ban Jelačić Square (Zagreb center point).

What a fun little museum! I love the concept--your ticket is a box of chocolate samples that you taste at various points throughout the museum. The displays are attractive and very informative, in both Croatian and English. We learned a lot about the history of chocolate and enjoyed the tastings. There are, of course, chocolates you can purchase at the end. Also, the staff are very welcoming and pleasant.

Had an enjoyable time learning about the history of chocolate consumption while sampling different chocolate varieties. You’re given a box at the start of the visit with different color-coded compartments that correspond to different color-coded rooms in the museum. The first compartment offered bitter cocoa nibs… the result of harvesting cacao and roasting the fibrous inside parts. The chocolate samples eventually became the type of tempered chocolate we enjoy today. Highly recommend, especially if you’re a chocoholic like me.
