Aleksander customized a trip for us from Sibenik to Paveki via Trogir, Split, Plitvice Lakes. His knowledge of the area and history was so very interesting. He always knew the best places to take spectacular photos.

Even before we arrived in Croatia he helped us prepare for entry into Croatia (not so easy for Americans) and gave us advice as to where to stay before we met up with him. Each email was met with an almost immediate response, even given the time difference. Aleksander, do you ever sleep?

His recommendations for accommodations were spot on and the places we visited were the best fit for the time we had. But of course I knew our travel with him would be 5 star as I had traveled with him 3 years ago. I always knew that when I came back (and I knew I could come back) I would find him no matter what.

As was my experience last time, our experience this time was above and beyond what I could have asked for. From loading my phone with Tele2 credits to stopping by the grocery on the way to the house to negotiating cheese prices at a raod side stand for us to enduring a trip to visit/feed deer that was not on the itinerary just because I saw a sign on the side of the road, he always had a smile on his face, a good joke to crack, and a memory like a sieve. He remembered all my preferences from my last trip (music, food, etc...) - AND THAT WAS 3 YEARS AGO!

Trust me - Alexsander is your man - he is the BEST guide in Croatia!

Starting from the Zagreb airport in the afternoon we headed towards Plitvice Lakes and stopped at a perfect overlook to the park to get us excited about the next day’s adventures. We checked into a truly lovely place recommended by Aleksandar (our guide) – it was a quiet place in the country with an amazing homecooked breakfast.

At Plitvice we walked the park and Aleksandar, a pro photographer, took our photos along the way as we walked. Do take the boat and go to the Upper Park – it has the best views and waterfalls! Then it was off to Tesla’s home and then we headed to Pula. The traffic was unbelievable, but Aleksandar was calm when I would have cursed like a sailor…. Along the way we stopped at a roadside restaurant for Peka and it was out of this world delicious!

The next morning we boarded the early boat to Brijuni National Park. We took the “mini” train through the Safari Park and saw Tito’s Cadillac. We had some time before the boat back and Aleksandar took me to a perfect spot to swim. I forgot my towel, and of course, like the perfect boy scout, he had an extra for me. That night he volunteered to go to the grocery to gather items for dinner. Knowing I love cheese, he picked up some very interesting cheese for me as a surprise.

The next morning we toured Pula and the coliseum. Again, Aleksandar took photos for us and told us all about the history of the town. His knowledge of all things Croatia is outstanding. We walked around the city and he took us to the most picturesque places. Then it was time to hop back into the car and head back to Zagreb. His taste in music while we were driving was perfect 😎

Upon arrival to Zagreb we stopped and put our bags in the lodging and then did a walking tour of Zagreb. It is sad the cannon is no longer blasting but the city is as vibrant as ever and Aleksandar knows all the places to make us feel as if we had seen the whole city. He also gave us some great recommendations for dinner. They were spot on.

You could not ask for a better guide. He is very in tune with what you need. I needed a Covid test for the next day’s travels to Slovenia – he took us to a place in Pula to make sure we could continue our travels after leaving him. He is so very easy going and thoughtful. I cannot imagine another guide who would make it a point to know what I like and remember it from trip to trip – because this isn’t my first trip with Limitless Balkan – it is my fourth! I would not have it any other way. Aleksandar always goes the extra mile - and always with a genuine smile. 🙂 I cannot recommend Limitless Balkan enough – you will not be disappointed – I promise!

I took the "4 Balkan Countries in 17 days" tour by myself. It truly was an amazing experience with the guides, the history of the countries and the outdoor experiences. I had a wonderful time with Aleksandar and Neven. I heartily recommend that you use Aleksandar for any excursions in Croatia.
It was easy to deal with Aleksandar via email, and we had 2 video chats. Alex met me at the airport and did a tour of Zagreb that afternoon. The next day Neven picked me up and off we went to Slovenia. Neven was my guide until Mostar in Bosnia. Then Alex met us and he became my guide for the rest of the tour. That worked perfectly. In some cities they use a local guide to enhance your experience.
Here are some details that you should know. The car was comfortable and always clean. Water was always available. The guides are always very punctual at the agreed-upon time. With this tour there is a lot of driving and there were washroom breaks, if required. In the car they will play any type of music or podcast, as you prefer. The accommodation that Alex chose was a mix of hotels and boutique properties, all of them very comfortable with breakfast included. I was surprised how much English was spoken everywhere we went.
Alex and Neven have extensive knowledge of Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Montenegro. I learned so much about the complex history. And the beauty of the country! I had excellent hikes around Lake Bohinj and Lake Bled in Slovenia, as well as in Durmitor National Park in Montenegro. Our day at Plitvice Lakes was packed with Croatian families and was overcast. Neven was disappointed I wasn't able to experience the real beauty of the Lakes. But Neven made up for it the next day with the tour of Krka National Park. It is very beautiful. Even though it was mid-October, Alex took me swimming on a private beach near Dubrovnik! It was glorious.
I can't thank Alex and Neven enough for their friendship and kindness during the tour and for sharing their best experiences in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Montenegro. This tour is truly a grand introduction to these Balkan states and I can't wait to return. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

We had a limited amount of time (only 6 days) to discover Croatia. A country with such rich history, culture and amazing outdoors and architecture, which we have not previously visited.

We greatly appreciated Limitless Balkans and its owner Aleksandar for making our tour successful and pleasant! Everything was done at the highest level of excellence.

Aleksandar scheduled for us a transfer from Zagreb to Split, from Split to Dubrovnik and reserved for us guided tours in Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes National Park and Mostar. All tours were done by very knowledgeable and professional guides and left us with vivid memories and a sense of understanding of all the places we visited. Transfers were done in very comfortable and clean cars, by professional drivers who were punctual and with knowledge of country history and the areas we traveled in, sharing it with us all the way through the transfer.

We especially appreciated Aleksandar’s help in helping us navigate a rather stressful situation when we forgot our passports and some jewelry in a hotel safe in Zagreb. In a short time he was able to make arrangements via his friends traveling to Split who delivered everthing to us. Thank you, Alex!!

We are highly recommending Limitless Balkans travel agency!

Dear Sam and Polina, Your wonderful review brought a big smile to my face! I'm thrilled that you had such a successful and enjoyable tour of Croatia with us. Arranging your tours and transfers was my absolute pleasure, and I'm glad you got to experience the richness of our history and culture. I'm really happy I could assist when you left your passports and jewelry behind - just part of the service! Meeting you both was a true delight, and your high praise for Limitless Balkans means the world to us. Thanks a million, Aleksandar

We found Limitless Balkan by chance and we are so happy we booked! We did a 1/2 day tour with Alex in Zagreb. Alex had so much knowledge around the history of the city and of Croatia. He also gave on tips on what else to see, where to eat, and where to get amazing gelato.
We had plans to drive around Croatia ourselves and had pre-arranged city tours in Split and Dubrovnik (also through Limitless Balkan). These tours did not disappoint - friendly and very knowledgeable guides who were happy to answer our questions and give us ideas on what else to see in the area.
Even though we were touring Croatia on our own, Alex kept in touch and provided tips only a local would know about where to park at certain attractions and additional things we should try to visit if we had time in a particular area.
We were fortunate that Alex has contacts in many cities and was able to arrange city tours (somewhat last minute even!) in Korcula, Pula and Rovinj.
Everyone we met through Limitless Balkan genuinely wanted us to have an amazing visit, not just to their city or region, but to Croatia.
We truly hope to be able to visit again and highly recommend Limitless Balkan to anyone considering a trip to Croatia.

I have to admit that choosing Limitless Balkan to customize my private tour in Croatia and beyond, was the best choice I have ever did.
I started my trip in Zagreb, and ended it with a day trip to Montenegro. Luckily Mr. Vucin , owner and founder of Limitless Balkan , acted as my tour guide through out the tours except day trip to Montenegro.
Mr. Vucin’ s professionalism and knowledge made my trip to Croatia a lifetime memory, not forgetting to mention his professionalism in photography… I went back home internally filled with the beauty of Croatia, and loaded with the most beautiful photos…thumbs up for Mr. Vucin… highly recommended to anyone who wants to have the best guided trips in the most beautiful Country..

I started working with Alex back in May for an 8 day trip through Croatia for a family of 7 (including kids and grandparents), starting in Zagreb, a day trip to Slovenia (Ljubljana and Lake Bled), then down to Plitvice Lakes NP, Sibenik and Krka NP, Trogir to Split, Korcula, then finally a few days in Dubrovnik. Other than hitting a heat wave, which we couldn't help, the trip incredibly went without a hitch. This was due mostly to immaculate planning by the very detail-oriented Aleksandar, who was also our driver. We had a local guide (people who grew up in those spots) at each stop, who gave us very personalized tours - each was wonderful (my favorite was Frane, for Krka and Sibenik - he was also a great photographer, and he took some of our best family shots of the trip). Alex was very responsive throughout the planning period leading up to the trip. Even after long days of travel, he made the time to clean and wash the (Mercedes!) van, so each day started in an immaculately clean vehicle, replenished with new water bottles and often a sweet treat. Alex was flexible throughout the tour to accomodate requests, and made quick detours for nice photo ops, etc. The hotels that he arranged were also fantastic (favorites: Armerun in Sibenik, and Kompas in Dubrovnik). Memorable moments included taking a boat in Korcula for a private seafood meal, with oysters pulled out of the sea straight to our table, swimming/snorkeling in the crystal clear Adriatic, and marveling at the waterfalls in Plitvic Lakes and Krka National Parks. Highly, highly recommend Alex and his team - you will not be disappointed!

Hi Jay, Thank you so much for your incredible review! It was an absolute pleasure working with you to plan and guide your family’s 8-day journey through Croatia. I’m so super happy that, despite the heat wave, everything went smoothly and you had such memorable experiences. It’s also wonderful to know you enjoyed the personalized tours with our local guides, and I’m especially happy that Frane’s tour stood out for you. I’m glad the little touches, like keeping the van spotless and stocked, added to your comfort throughout the trip. I’m thrilled that you loved the hotels and all the special moments, from the seafood feast in Bay of Mali Ston to swimming in the Adriatic and exploring the beautiful national parks. Thank you for your high recommendation—your kind words mean a world to me and the entire team. I hope we have the chance to welcome you and your family back for more adventures in the future! Best regards, Aleksandar

If you are looking for a tour operator in Croatia look no more. This is it. This guys are everything you hope for. Punctual, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, extremely helpful and plain awesome. I came with a group of 10 other people from Costa Rica and our only regret is not being able to stay longer so that we can be showed around by them. If you book a tour with them you are not going to regret it.

Kristina was a terrific guide - knowledgeable and fun, with lots of Croatian legends and myths to entertain us. We would never have found any of the places she showed us on our own - even down to recommending where to have lunch. We so enjoyed having a private tour instead of being part of a large group tour. Would definitely recommend.

Alex worked with me to plan a 4-day trip to Zagreb, Plitvice, Rijeka and Slovenia, based on specific needs (I had to give a lecture in Rijeka) and interests in seeing as much as I could in a short period. Everything about the trip was great, and worked with my constraints in having a very short time and wanting everything to be as streamlined as possible. Alex chose great hotels, including a lovely small villa B&B in the countryside near Plitvice. My room in Ljubljana had a spectacular view of the city, perfect for my last night in the Balkans. Alex’ best choice of all was to get Mario as my guide for the entire trip (along with local guides as relevant). Mario’s knowledge, professionalism and curiosity were a great complement for my own background as a college professor, and the trip was really enjoyable because of Mario’s awareness of Balkan history and enthusiasm. All in all, a wonderful, albeit too short, introduction to Croatia and Slovenia, making me want to come back.
