Truffle Hunting Zagreb combines exploring the top interesting Zagreb nature sites with truffle hunting and learning, as well as outdoor tasting of fresh premium black truffles that you’ve dug out yourself. Special gift - 20 grams (per participant) of fresh truffle in glass jar to take home. Duration: approx 2 - 2.5 hours. Price: 130 Euro per person.

Zvone was absolutely amazing! Bubu and Izzy were the best truffle hunting dogs ever! Our family of 5 (including 3 young kids - ages 9, 7, and 4) had a wonderful time spending time outside searching for truffles. We then enjoyed some truffle treats (truffle cheese, truffle chocolate etc.) while the truffles we found were being cleaned, and headed straight to a gourmet restaurant where we were given shavers to shave our newfound truffles over our lunch. Zvone was extremely helpful before, during, and after the tour, following up with photos and videos of Bubu and Izzy. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Zagreb! Thank you, Zvone!

I enjoyed a wonderfully pleasant morning with Zvone and Izzy on my first truffle hunt. Zvone is an excellent guide with impressive knowledge and the added bonus of a friendly and affable persona. His passion for all things truffle is contagious and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a must-do activity for anyone interested in truffles.
Izzy did a great job flying solo without Bubu and managed to find us a few gold nuggets.
Thank you Zvone for being so flexible, patient and accommodating but mostly for a memorable day that I shall cherish as one of my favourite since being in Zagreb.

Zvone is engaging, funny and knowledgeable. Within minutes, you will feel like old friends and learn so much about truffles and his amazing dogs, Izzy and Bubu. Watching Izzy in action and unearthing our black treasures was such fun! Top that with tasting our truffles, truffle cheese and delicious honey liquor and it adds up to a must do!!

I don't usually write reviews but this experience is worth writing about! :)
My friends and I are in Zagreb for 2 nights and truffle hunting with Zvone was the probably the best activity we did there. Zvone was prompt to reply to our messages (we emailed him the night before the activity).
Zvone was so knowledgeable and passionate about the different types of truffles and mushrooms that we actually went to the mushroom museum he recommended after the tour just to read more about it!
We truly enjoyed ourselves and def learnt so much from this trip. This hunting trip is definitely a cut above the rest and I would highly rec this to anyone who is visiting Zagreb, I promise it would be a time well spent!

This truffle hunting tour exceeded my expectations! Zvone is an excellent teacher and guide, and you can feel his passion and joy for what he does. If you have any interest in mycology, food, dogs, or nature in general, I highly recommend this tour! After the tour he sent me pictures that he took while we were hunting which I really appreciated. He also sent me some more literature on truffles to further my knowledge.
Zvone even gave me recommendations on places to eat traditional Croatian dishes as well as places to hike and enjoy nature.
Next time I am in Croatia, I will do the tour again. Thank you my friend.

Truly unique and exceptional experience if you don't live in truffle country (which most of us do not).
Morning started with us (two beautiful dogs and the guide) foraging thru the forest. Park / forest is beautiful in and off itself. Got right into it starting hunting and the amazing and skilled tracker dogs found us some truffles immediately. I knew it was going to be a great morning. Very authentic and genuine experience.
The guide is very eco conscious and understand the symbiotic nature of NATURE. Made sure we left each find as we found it. I liked how protective he is of preserving the environment.
Continued to discover the forest and found many more. Always a delight to capture more.
On the very last find when we were about to exit we found the larges truffle that I got to keep and enjoy at a restaurant the next day,
Fresh truffles have amazing aromas.
This is more than a 5 star experience. Recommend it to anyone that has a slight interest in food and agriculture.

First of all, we didnt't expect to have the opportunity of such a tour in our home town! One saturday we decided to visit Medvednica with Zvonimir and his great dogs Izzy and Bubu. There we learned a lot about truffles and truffle hunting in general. We found some as well! Ok, Izzy and Bubu found them :-) But we tried them later with cheese and great Croatian rakija :-).
Zvone is interesting and talkative and it was really easy to interact with him. It was educational, exciting and motivating!
We definitely recommend taking this interesting tour, especially if you enjoy nature, dogs and friendly people :-). The truffles are the cherry on top of the cake <3

Incredible experience. 2.5 hours of wandering through a beautiful forest with an incredibly warm, friendly, and knowledgable guide, while the awesome Izzy sniffed out multiple truffles of multiple varieties for us to try!
For the two of us Australians, the world of truffles was a bit of a mystery, but after a visit to the Mushroom Museum (also great!) we figured we'd give the truffle hunt a try.
It's an easy transit from Zagreb, and you can comfortably do the truffle hunt, taste some amazing truffle products (the cheese is amazing), followed by the truffles the wonderful dogs sniffed out, and be back in town for a lunch. It's actually the perfect morning on holiday.
Our wonderful guide then followed up via whatsapp with great recipe suggestions for the remaining truffles we found on our hunt, along with stacks of information about the Lagotto Romagnolo dog breed and truffle growth. He even provided some suggestions for our remaining time in Croatia, which was entirely above and beyond our expectations. Such a great host!

What a fun morning activity! We were essentially walking around a wooded area by Zagreb with two adorable dogs and a knowledgeable guide. Learned so much about truffles, how they grow best/how to find them, and the dogs. Got to taste truffle cheese and some honey liquor with the feast of truffles afterwards. Was nervous the ground would be frozen so we wouldn’t get any truffles in December but the dogs easily found over a dozen, including a fair number of pretty big ones.
We ended up going directly to a restaurant that they partner with where they welcomed us to eat the truffles with our meal. Yum!

I found this tour on Trip Advisor and I am leaving a review here for others traveling to Zagreb to find it as well because you simply cannot come to Croatia and leave this tour out of your itinerary. It was an absolute gem!
We had a packed weekend with activities and only had one night free but Zvone managed to fit us in that particular night. This was most definitely our highlight during our stay in Zagreb. Zvone is extremely well-informed on truffles and had an answer to all the questions we asked him. We (Izzy and Bubu) managed to find some truffles too!
After the hunt, we were later greeted with a cute romantic gazebo and there we found some honey truffle brandy, truffle cheese, and the truffles ready for us to taste. Zvone also gave us a cute magnet as a memory of this special night with Izzy and Bubu's names engraved on it which is now stuck on our fridge at home bringing back cute memories every time we see it. Highly highly recommend it!!
