In whole Croatia.
It is placed close to main square in Zagreb. Very nice program, almost every week you can come and hear/see something else. From popular musicians over to jazz or blues to folklore dances. Eveything for everyone

The production and organization of superb musical and also numerous multimedia events have assured the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall the leading position in the concert activities of Croatia, as well as the immediate region.

Seasonal tickets in Concerts hall Lisinski are one of the best deals for lovers of classical music in town and neighbourhood. 12 concerts annually, fixed time on Saturday evenings, some really great solists and renown orchestras from all the world. Even if yoiu miss some of concerts for whatever reason it is still very good price per concert and is 50 % cheper than in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where we live. It is never empty and audience is very well behaved and always enjoys the performance.
What I don't like is the dress code policy at the entrance to the main hall where students always make me problems because of my clothes. I wear long silky coats for all pclassical concerts or opera/ballet etc. Be careful, if you have a coat, even if it is a silk one for evening "going outs" they would not allow you to enter the main concert hall. I always have to argue with them and explain that under my "coat" is only sleeveless top. As a matter of fact this on management to fix it. Nowhere in the world they complicate it this way, in Met or NYC Philharmony visitors can go in winter jackets if they want.

When in Zagreb, check the agenda of the Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall. You can score a high class performance at a very reasonable price, in a concert hall with very good acoustics. And after the event, drop down to the cafe - it is really special. It has some nice Art Deco touches, see picture.

Friends, family and I have attended many and varied performances at this fine hall. We have never been disappointed in any production there.
However, recently a nasty little issue has become apparent to many a patron that spoils the otherwise excellent reputation of this fine facility.
Printed now where else, but in fine print on an on-line purchased ticket is the house rule that all jackets and coats, back packs, etc, MUST be checked at the cloak room.
At some events that can dictate less than formal wear, I dress in slacks and shirt, donning a black leather car coat; which is basically a sports coat without the split up the back side. The first time I was advised I must check the coat, I advised the user that he was wearing his jacket and I would wear mine; walked on past without incident. However, at a recent event, not one,but two ushers assured me that they would not let me enter the hall in my jacket. I argued, to no avail, finally relented as I did not want to become engaged in a physical confrontation in the presence of my wife, checked the coat and tried to enjoy the vent. It was difficult as all around me every other female at the event was wearing a black leather jacket or coat. Yet all males had been prevented the luxury. Checking with an attorney, I have discovered that this discriminatory practice is a felony. The next concert I attend ought to be interesting. A zero star policy negates a 5 star venue.

Great acoustic hall! We were here dor several concerts (Oliver Dragojevic, Doris Dragovic, Japaneese Drummers...). It is well organized, although was a bit crowded when we went to pick up our jackets from warderobe.

Had a tour of the concert hall, including backstage and both concert halls, a small one and a big one. It is very nice to see it. Would recommend it to anyone who is interested in the history of Croatian music and composers, but would especially recommend the tour to the musicians to which I think it would be the most interesting.

Biggest concert hall in Zagreb. Remarkable architecture from 70e's. Perfect acoustic. Visit if you can.
