Nice tour and the monasteries were beautiful. Our guide was very nice but her driving was not on the safe side. She sped and passed cars in a reckless way. We were relieved to finally return back to our hotel.

I just arrived back from this day trip and was very impressed. Chris the guide was on time and very pleasant. He knows his stuff and was full of fascinating information about the countries, the history, the culture and the churches/monasteries. The lunch was really lovely and it was great to try some typical local food in such a beautiful setting. Even the torrential rain couldn't put a dampener on the day. We had sun by the time we got to beautiful Boyana church and the scenery and grounds were peaceful and full of nature. The frescoes were magnificent and Chris was careful to point out the really excellent features I would have missed while also telling great information about them. We stopped for cherries on the way back where we could see where they were growing locally. Chris has a great sense of humour, is a great driver and a thoughtful tour guide who wants you to get the most from your tour. I can definitely recommend it 100%. Thanks Chris!

The tour leader Maria was an excellent guide. She explained the history of the places in detail and she was very helpful. I recommend this tour to everyone because it was a really nice experience for us.

First let me say the guide was knowledgeable and did a good job. Also for the most part I did get what was described with some exceptions.

However, I thought I was signing up for a food tour. I've been on a few of those and normally there are >8 stops along the way on the ones I've been on. I have used it in the past to check out restaurants at the beginning of my trip to figure out where I'll eat over the week. I feel I basically got a walking tour with a Shopska salad, a yogurt drink, a glass of wine , and some Bulgarian cold cuts added in. The food was all good pretty large portions for a food tour (somewhat compensating for fewer stops) , however if I could do it again I probably would have gone for a walking tour only at about a third of the price and spent the extra money on dinner.

I have book this hiking tour and expecting to hike up to Vitosha summit as per the itinerary, but unfortunately I was not well known of this place and was not brought up to the summit by the guide. I remember I did ask the guide but she said if we would hike up to summit is going to take more time. She said usually the tour is up to where she brought me to, which it call Kamen Del. But in the itinerary was to Vitosha summit. It does not matter of the time that I have to hike, if the itinerary said to go to the summit, the guide should guide me and bring me to the summit. Due to I did not bring a copy of the itinerary, I could not demand and ask to bring me to the Vitosha summit and I just have to follow the guide. When I come back to my hotel and I check the itinerary, it said hike to Vitosha summit and have a beautiful view. I am not happy about it and I wrote to a message asking why I was not guide and hike up to the summit but no reply from the message, please do something about it and please reply to my message. Thank you. My advice to others, please bring a copy of your itinerary when you follow the tour with this company. Otherwise you might not get what you are paying for.

We are a family of 8 people (9 yrs to 67 yrs) with different fitness levels. The way up was difficult for most of us.
Another issue was the guidance of this day trip. Our group had a leading guide and a nice assistant.Unfortunately, we didn't feel that the guide contributed much to our trip rather than some minor explanations. Moreover, her attitude was some how patronizing and tough. At the end of day-trip, after walking for hours, and paying generously, when she was asked to start the vehicle's air conditioning, since it was too hot ,she refused. We were disappointed by this attitude.
The trip took place on June 8th, 2019.

We truly enjoyed our day visiting the stunning church of Boyana and the impressive Rila Monastery. The snow made the scenery look even more beautiful than what I had seen on photos before travelling to Bulgaria. Having said this, what made our day epic was our guide Maria. She was very knowledgeable and interesting, passionate about sharing her culture and showing us around, very energetic, funny and friendly.

In addition to this excursion, the previous evening we also did the Sofia by night tour with traditional dinner show with the same company and guide (Maria) and it was also a really good experience. We tried some of the traditional Bulgarian dishes and we even danced with the local dancers and other visitors who held hands and danced in a circle (the traditional way)

This sight was incredible! The only slight issue with my trip was the ice and snow. Walking was a bit hazardous, but the tour was still great. My guide was intelligent and provided good company. He was able to answer all my questions and gave a great deal of information about this site. I enthusiastically recommend this tour.

This was a fantastic tour with unforgettable sights. Chris, the guide, was punctual, incredibly knowledgable and had a great sense of humour.

Chris was full of information regarding the churches, monasteries and history of Bulgaria, Macedonia and the wider region. He pointed out features in all of the places we visited that would have been missed otherwise. I came away with a better understanding of both countries and a desire to return again in future.

I would strongly recommend this tour - thanks Chris!

I booked the tour to Plovdiv and Thracia Valley Wine Tasting with hotel pickup and they never showed up. I tried to call both numbers I had in the voucher (To Zelanos and to Happy Visit) and both didn't pick up... Don't book from this company!!!!! It's a scam!!! I want my money back!!!!!
