It’s a tiny old church in the outskirts of Boyana, a posh neighbourhood of Sofia located on the slopes of the Vitosha mountain. The church is about 10 kilometres away from the city centre and was built in various steps between the 10th and the...More

You will love it! Its a short drive from the city center, you may want to make reservations, only 8 people at a time inside the church. Once you are there you want to drive to stone river and to see the city view up...More

it came as part of the trip we were taking to Rila and so it was ok to visit the place. I would not recommend a visit only to see this church.

The church was located a bit out of the way but not hard to find if you take a taxi. However we combined the church with a visit to the National History museum in the same neighbourhood. (Buy a combined ticket for the two attractions)...More

Interesting church that is over several hundred years old. Entrance is around 10 Lei, more expensive than Rila Monastery. The paintings on the wall are however quite impressive as they are in 3D rather than the more sedate 2d paintings that is seen at Rila...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Can anyone tell me if there are any half day tours to the Boyana Church? I see a lot of full day tours. I would be interested in a morning or afternoon only tour.

Hay alguna pagina en la que se pueda reservar con antelación la entrada a esta iglesia?? O todo debe ser a través de tours??? Es fácil quedarse sin entrada?
