Our driver Nicky took us to Plovdiv really friendly an helpful person. Gave us lots of information about Plovdiv and other areas of Bulgaria. Plovdiv was quite interesting (old town) and down around the upbeat trendy area. We had a very enjoyable experience.

Let’s begin with Plovdiv. It’s one of the two European Capitals of Culture and deservedly so. Lots to see and lots of cobblestones in the old town. Too much really for one day, if you want to include a lunch and drinks. And then there’s Nikolay, the company CEO and driver for the day. Just great. Charming and informative, we chatted about the country and it’s sights, a little about the places we were driving through and he was kind enough to say nothing if I was day-dreaming out of a window. It’s a near 2 hour trip each way but that gives you 4 hours in Plovdiv. The tourist office headset / tour guide was a surprise and very welcome. Thank you Niki, it was a pleasure to drive with you today.

We had a genuine travel experience and a great time in Bulgaria with “undiscovered Bulgaria” agent. I was very much satisfied with the communication process and the quick and professional feedback received from Mr. Nikolay through the first email. I arranged with him a four days tour around Bulgaria covering multiple attractions in Sofia, Rila Monastery, Kazanlak village, Veliko Tărnovo and Plovdiv. During the trip we’ve been escorted by a professional guide Ms. Diana who speaks English fluently and provided excellent historical information about each place visited while Mr. Nikolay was driving the car and also explaining about the local life, culture and best food in Bulgaria. We were very lucky in our trip and we had wonderful time in Bulgaria and this couldn’t go better without the excellent service from Nikolay who is very passionate man about Bulgaria and knows very well all the hidden beauty of his country, culture and food. Moreover, he is excellent photographer and taught us how to take pictures with different devices and stopped us on best locations to have amazing shots. He also sends us a beautiful collection of photographs via a web link taken by his camera spontaneously for us which turned to be a very nice memory to preserve. Besides this, Nikolay is a generous man and took us to the airport on the way back home without any charge and provided us with couple souvenirs from Bulgaria and introduced us to his friends who were preparing for a dance competition in traditional costumes and we enjoyed having lots of pictures with them. Both Diana and Nikolay were very patient and gave us enough time and space to have our satisfaction from each place. Thank you for the wonderful service and it worth every penny paid without any doubt.

I booked myself and two friends on the small group one day tour from Sofia to Buzludzha (25.05.19). I can happily say that Undiscovered Bulgaria more than exceeded my expectations! It ended up just being the three of us so we were picked up from our hotel. Our guides, Nikolay and Charlie were both fantastic and very knowledgeable. Their passion for thier country really shows. On our journey out to the monument we were given a good background on Bulgaria and it's journey to independence. I don't think any of us will be forgetting the name Vasil Levski anyte soom! On the drive to Buzludzha we passed fields upon fields of roses, giving us a good understanding of the scale of the rose oil industry in Bulgaria. Once we started to approach the mountains we could see the outline of the Buzludzha monument on the mountains, a tiny dot at first, bit the iconic shape soon became apparent the closer we came to it. We were taken right up to the foot of the Monument, and Charlie then took us on a walk around it giving us a good bit of background about its history, construction, and its current status. Access inside the Monument is illegal, and All entrance are now sealed off, but we were all happy walking around the monument and getting a sense of its sheer scale (I don't think the photos really help how how big this place is!). We were given plenty of time here, and were not at all rushed. Our next stop on the tour was the Shipka Monument, erected for those who died for the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottomans between 1877-78. There is a small museum inside the monument which only costs a few Lev, and is definitely worth going inside as it takes you to the top of the Monument. Our guide, Charlie joined us to the top and showed us around. Following this, we visited the Shipka Memorial church, a beautiful Orthodox church and we'll worth a walk around to admire the architecture and paintings. Once we finished at the church we were taken for a lunch stop at a local restaurant serving some traditional Bulgarian food. I have to say, we had no complaints! :) We were given two options on how to get back to Sofia, one quicker than the other, but we decided to take the longer way back and had two additional stops on the was, stopping off at the Centre of Bulgaria Monument and also a Monument to Vasil Levski. I can not recommended this company enough. If you want a unique experience with local guides who are passionate about their country, its history and traditions, definitely go with Undiscovered Bulgaria! They were more than accommodating to our needs, and we were never once rushed, spending as much or as little time at the monuments as we wanted. A great day out! Thanks Nikolay and Charlie! :D
