Communist Walking Tour of Sofia

226 reviews
Sofia is filled with famous monuments from Bulgaria’s communist era, but there are also many secluded places that are easy to miss on your own. Ensure you see the recognizable and hidden sights, and learn about their backstories on this walking tour. Exploring by foot grants you access to place inaccessible by traditional tour vehicles. Plus, discover the realities of daily life under Bulgaria’s 1946-1989 government from a guide—insight you wouldn’t get if sightseeing independently.

The 24 hours casino has 1-2 and 2-5 cash games. Only problem is that they only have 6 tables. So be prepare to wait 2-3 hours to play during weekends. Great thing is that you can exchange US dollars, Euros, and pounds for chips with a decent exchange rate. The table games of black jack and ultimate Texas Hold'em are standard. Be sure to have your passport handy, because that is the only form of identification they will accept.

We all won with blackjack so we had a good night but getting a drink is really difficult. You only get served when you are sitting at a table and even when you sit it's difficult to get a drink. Dont forget to bring your Passport with you they dont accept your driving license.

Only game in town for poker, no other casino or slot machine parlor has live poker games in Sofia. Food typical of small casino's, limited menu, two bars, lots of clean bathrooms, tournament for poker starts at 7, casino open 24 hours, they say. Like the people I met, almost all the dealers are young, but they get the job done, wiping is not as typical as in other casino venues.

My colleagues and I visited the casino on three consecutive nights, on two of which we really enjoyed our experience as the croupiers and waiting staff are just so friendly compared to most casinos that I have visited. Each night they opened a new roulette table for us and the only reason that our experience not as good on the other night was because of a group of guys that joined us who were let's say not so polite.
