It is on the halfway to white fortress which is on the top of the hill, some 20min more walk. It is best to visit in later afternoon so you can stay for the sunset. Good to visit white fortress together and take some silhouette...More

This place is a really lovely viewpoint, and just a short walk from the city centre so if you have some time to spend here, definitely do it. Also, while approaching the fortress, you will see a sign for the cafe Kamarija - this is...More

It's free to go to the yellow fotress. When you get there you walk up some steps to the top. There is a cafe up there and seating. You get some great views of Sarajevo. You can't enter the fortress. There is also no information...More

It is a steep hike up, but the view is totally worth it, esp for the sunset over the city. There's really nothing there but a view point and some cats, however.

We read about this place and thought it was quite a far walk from the city center. However, it was not. A bit steap, but a nice walk and with a lovely view. It seems like there is a coffee shop at this place during...More

We drove up to the fortress by the nicest man in his 100 year old car. On our way up we also got a personal and very interesting guide of the city and its history. The fortress is on top of a hill and when...More

Confusingly this place -a 10 minutes walk up from the bazar- is called zuta tabija or yellow fortress. Actually it is a bastion part of the old walls surrounding Vratnik village, a place worth visiting in its own right. The villagers insist Vratnik is older...More

Bobsled track safety and distance from Baščaršija (0 Replies)
I saw some older threads about visiting the bobsled track, but nothing too recent. I've also read some conflicting reports online about how long of a walk/hike it is. As a solo traveler do you think it's safe to visit the track on my own or should I hire a guide/go with a local? I read about one couple who said that it was about an hour and half hike out to the track- which sounds good to me- but another person said it took almost three hours. I guess it all depends on your pace, but...More
