Profound and Thought Provoking. A Must Do.
I.highly recommend visiting the Tunnel of Hope, it was one of my favourite trips in the whole of Bosnia. We booked with Funky Tours and our guide Mustaff had actually been through the tunnel during the war. His first hand stories were invaluable in helping to understand what things were truly like. I have to say it was actually one of the most profound and thought provoking experiences of my life.

Must Visit to Know the Siege of Sarajevo.
"Tunel of Hope" helped us to learn about the Siege of Sarajevo and better understand the history of the city. This is first time to visit a tunnel and it was surprising that no one knew about the construction of this tunnel and its existence, except those who used it. It helped to transport food and other primary requirements to sarajevo from outside the city, so that people could survive.

    The Siege of Sarajevo
Adman was the perfect tour guide since he fought for Sarajevo during the siege for more than 4 years. He told many first hand stories of living and fighting in a war zone. He used the tunnel many times himself to bring food and water to the city, and to take night-time positions to fight the enemy. The tour was surprisingly optimistic since Sarajevo is now a vibrant multicultural city. Highly recommend!

War tunnel a must see to understand Sarajevo siege.
The war tunnel is a must see attractions to understanding the odds of Sarajevo siege. It is hard and more expensive to get there by taxi and public transport. Take a tour is the best because you will see the Jewish cement art used to shoot the city, the snipers ally, the surrounded mountains and more. The tunnel itself is not the original because it is being renovated after it collapsed. It is very touching the place. It is a museum and the real house where it was built ( the entrance ) There is a 20min movie self explained and lots of original artifacts.

    stunning experience
I have been here as a guide couple of times. Last time I found a new part which has an added value to the whole site. They added around 100 meters of artificieal tunnel that looks like the original (that collapsed) and it gives a true feeling to the visitors.

Poignant, moving site that tells the story of the awful Siege of Sarajevo
The Sarajevo War Tunnel — the “Tunnel of Hope” — is a poignant reminder of the four-year-long siege that the people of Sarajevo endured at the hands of Serb forces in the 1990s. The tunnel, built under the city’s airport, gave Sarajevans a means to escape the siege and also allowed much needed weaponry, supplies and humanitarian aid to be brought into the city. The site contains a reconstructed portion of the tunnel that visitors can traverse to get a small feel for what Sarajevans experienced when using the tunnel during the siege. The site also includes exhibits, photos and artifacts — and an extraordinarily moving documentary — that bring into vivid focus the story of the terrible siege. This is a must see on any visit to Sarajevo for anyone interested in what this beautiful city and its brave people went through and, despite the casualties and damage they suffered, survived not all that long ago.

    Tunnel of life
After several days in Sarajevo this was the last site we visited connected to the Bosnian conflict. It is outside the center of the city but worth the effort to visit. Very interesting to see how the tunnel was built and how it was used as a lifetime. Interesting films and artifacts. Worth the visit.

So pleased we got to see the tunnel. It is only short but as such a crucial piece of history for Sarajevo it was worth it. However, I would definitely suggest using the audio guide. We did not and there was not much English written explanation. Enough to get a basic grasp of what you’re looking at but I was frustrated because I knew there was a lot more. Bring headphones, and I would recommend downloading the app before you go. It costs $3, I think you can pay that on the map, but entry fee they only take klm, nothing else. We caught the 103 bus from the city to the end of the line, then a half hour walk. It was a longish walk with nothing particular to see but peaceful and interesting to look out over the airport that caused the such grief in the first place as well as see the suburbs and rural Sarajevo. If you do walk - it feels a bit strange because there are no footpaths and it feels off the beaten track but you will get there.

The tour itself is nothing complicated: a video room with a 17-min. long tape presenting the building and the everyday life of the tunnel during the war, a tiny museum and an excerpt of the tunnel. Yet this little exhibition says more than most of the bigger museums I’ve been to. Through the film, you get a sense of how the war effected the everyday life of the ordinary citizens of Sarajevo which is something you cannot learn in the school. It was also interesting to read how the tunnel was saved and the whole thing was put together by a family without any significant help from others.
The “tour” has given me an unforgettable experience and made me more aware of the sufferings of the people of Sarajevo. I would absolutely recommend a visit there!

The place should have been better presented. The war show were basically photos and videos. You can be easily find similar stuff online. The tunnel is interesting and worth visiting though. The whole museum is very small and probably takes 5 minutes to see everything excluding the movie.

there are 2 tunnels here that you can access. one is about 25m and another 100+m. you will need to crouch down a little as you walk but it is not too bad

there is also a museum onsite, as well as some video on the loop

entrance fee is 10 BAM and parking is 2 BAM. definitely worth a visit.

It’s hard to believe this happened only 25 years ago. It’s like something from WWI and yet most of the people that experienced it are still alive. Building an 800m tunnel under an airstrip with hand tools is on par with any WW1 trench or Viet Cong tunnel, a testament to the horrors of war. Impossible to find without a tour guide as it’s on edge of city in a neighborhood but worth a visit.

A farce of a history museum. 2 tiny rooms, no explanations of the exhibits, the "free" audio guide app is too old for most devices and costs 2 €. One can visit a replica of the tunnel.
Excellent example of history used for mere entertainment instead of education, instrumentalising a truly inspiring and interesting story that deserves more attention and facts.

Do not waste your money and do not, under any circumstances, try to reach the museum by public transport.

Not reccomded!

I arrived to the tunnel ticket office at 5:05pm in the middle of August. This facility has extremely short opening hours in the high tourist season. Last visitor may enter at 5pm. Once entered, they may stay inside until 5:30pm. The policeman guard at the entrance was strict and said he could lose his job if he let me in. I said I only need to see it for 10 minutes and will be out by 5:30, but no, I was not allowed to enter. Unfortunately, the next day I had to leave Sarajevo early and could not see this museum, which has disappointed me — as I traveled very far to see this. Please can you keep the tunnel open longer in the summer?

This is a drive outside the city - across from the airport. The attraction is unassuming and left in a natural state. The tunnel is short and gives a taste of what inventiveness the hard pressed people of the city applied. There is a very good short movie, a photo journal wall, and several good maps and displays. It is hard to see without a tear in your eye. By the way, the bathrooms are terrible. There are good public bathrooms at the store across the parking lot.

This site is difficult to reach without a car, since it's a long distance away from town. I believe you can get there with public transportation, but we chose to do a tour which transported us there and also meant we had a guide who could give us more information about the siege and the tunnel.

There is a small museum with displays and information, but we most appreciated the movie that ran about 15 minutes and showed footage of the tunnel and its use and construction, and the two tunnel sections (one original, one reconstructed) that are available for you to walk through.

Overall with our tour we were here for about an hour. On our own we wouldn't have minded a little more time, but we were satisfied with what we saw and were definitely grateful that we had the chance to see this sobering but important site related to the (very recent) history of Sarajevo.
