Gazi Husrev Bey’s Bezistan, also called Old Bezistan and Great Bezistan, is a covered market in what used to be the old bazaar area of Sarajevo. Instead of the original gold and silversmiths, the shops instead are now geared towards the tourists. Expect to see lamps, plates, cups and other trinkets. There are also cafes and confectionary shops inside, so you could definitely spend half a day here if this is your thing.

This building has been a shopping area since the 1500's. The goods for sale were very touristy, and mostly not all that different from other tourist markets we've been to at other places around the world. Not necessarily worth seeking out, but it's a covered area, so might be nice to duck into during a rainstorm.

A small market in a site that has been operating for commercial purposes since 1530. Today you will find silver jewelry, tourist goods and little things. It is highly recommended on hot or rainy days especially to see the architecture!

Cut little Bazaar. Full of nock off goods. One hallway full of shops to browse. The salespeople are difficult to bargain with. They all tell you the store is not mine I can't discount for you! What!

Gazi-Husrev Beg's Bezistan in Central Sarajevo is great example of a 15th Century covered market with an attractive exterior and bustling arcade atmosphere once inside. Although everything on sale is a far cry from what would have been sold in 15th Century it is a great place to spend some time exploring.

This is an old bazaar with great architecture. You can take beautiful photos there.
There are many little shops selling souvenirs. And they are cheaper then any other place in the city.

I visited the Gazi Husrev-beys Bezistan, or the Gazi Husrev-begov Bezistan, on Sunday, 11th August, 2014. As the interior is very similar to the Grand Bazaar’s interior in Istanbul, the building is symbolic in the way that it is often referred to as 'a piece of Istanbul in the heart of Sarajevo.'
The building was built after Gazi Husrev-bey's death between 1537 and 1557. It was a focal point of silk, leather and cotton trade in Sarajevo. Due to the fact that the building is in-ground built, it was subject to many floods over the years.
Unlike the other streets and alleyways of the Baščaršija quarter, this building is not dedicated to a specific craft or trade. The stores inside sell various items, from leather bags, sunglasses and fridge magnets, to official FK Sarajevo (Football Club Sarajevo) merchandise and copies of the Qur'an.
I was more impressed with the architecture and history of this building, than the shopping inside, as the Gazi Husrev-bey's Bezistan has long lost its original purpose. However, do visit!

What we noticed most when we entered was the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke. We were looking forward to partaking in some browsing and shopping in the inside bazaar. The building was built in the 1550's and has predominantly been used for trade in all that time. I tried to bargain at one or two stores but got nothing but disdain from the stall workers so we didn't purchase anything from here. The shops in this arcade are pretty much similar to those in the market area anyway.
As far as the building goes, it has lovely architecture and is nice in its own right but I didn't like the place as a market.
