It's the first time I've seen a wooden fountain. You look more like a kiosk than a fountain. It was built in the 18th century in pure Moorish style and is located in the heart of Sarajevo's old town.

Sebilj is a Moorish style fountain in the center of the small square which is located in the heart of the historic center of the city. The name indicates from Arabic the public fountains that have the shape of a kiosk but this one dates back to the end of the 19th century even if it was built in style. The square is pedestrianized and surrounded by cafes and restaurants where you can taste typical local dishes. Drinking water flows from the fountain, excellent for cooling off and is a meeting point.

There is the fountain in the midst of it all. Around it, is the taxi hub and vendors booths. It is difficult not to see it. It's like a meeting point or a marker in the city. Even though I was told those who drink from it returns to the country. Other than this it held no significance to me but to the locals it does. .

The fountain itself is interesting to look at, and looks Turkish on its own. It is also situated in the center of the square which is in the center of that part of Old Town. You should definitely visit the Turkish section of town and walk through the small and narrow streets when you are in Sarajevo. The fountain itself is not necessarily a must-see, but you will almost certainly see it while you're in this part of town. It still works, too, so feel free to fill your water bottle while you're there!

Located in the old town, its a hub of activity with people meeting. Go an see this old fountain, and if nothing else get a free water bottle fill up. Watch out for the pigeons though!

Amazing market with thousands of sweets shops, restaurants, souvenir stores and jewellery shops. Tons to see, photo and eat. This particular fountain is where hundreds of pigeons gather daily to be chased by children and observed by passersby. Fun and lively.

So many pigeons...
in all seriousness it's located on a nice square, which is usually crowded, so you might have a small issue with taking a picture of it during rush hours and on a sunny day. It's a working fountain that's definitely worth seeing as it is one of the focal points of Sarajevo.

Sebilj Brunnen is an ornate and highly decorative Ottoman fountain in the heart of Baščaršija. The fountain is hugely popular and was a favoured photo opportunity for passers-by at the time I visited. It is one of many attractions to be seen in the city.

This fountain is in a square in the Old Town and is close to the copper street. There were more birds than people and the birds aren't shy. Just don't look up with your mouth open.
