    Wonderful day touring with Mustafa
We did not take the cooking class, but we spent an excellent day touring with Mustafa. We visited various Olympic sights, the Tunnel of Hope, and Tito’s Bunker. We really appreciated him sharing his own personal and family’s harrowing experiences during the Siege. We spent the day talking politics, learning about his life, and he patiently and freely answered all of our questions. He is a gifted tour guide and truly a lovely human being (as well as a safe driver)! If you are interested in more than cooking lessons, please ask him about his availability to guide you around his beautiful country!

    Don’t miss this class!
This class was exceptionally fun and interesting. Our welcome was warm and genuine. The recipes were well chosen, satisfying to prepare and delicious to eat! Mersiha is an intuitive cook who clearly wanted us to learn and experience Bosnian culture at its best. I was impressed by her resourcefulness, wasting nothing but making dishes I can replicate at home. We were lucky enough to spend the following day with her husband, Mustafa, who took us to see Tito’s Bunker, 1984 Olympian sites and told us his very moving personal story at the Tunnel of Hope from the 1991-1995 war with Serbia. They are a wonderfully kind and interesting couple. You will be glad to meet them and learn from them.

Everyone should meet and cook with Mersiha!
We are a family of 5, with three teenage daughters. Obviously as every teenager my daughters were not really excited at a prospect of a cooking lesson ( I do drag them to cooking lessons abroad a lot because im a chef) but Mersiha and Mustafa were the most friendly and warm people and they made the afternoon just perfect! Girls loved the food we prepared, they were treated to the home made apple juice and berry juice from Mersiha’s garden! Most of the produce was from their garden as well! I could not recommend the experience enough! Thank you both for your hospitality and warm welcome as well as delicious food! Next time we will do a private tour with Mustafa! There is so much to see there! Wishing you all the best! Katarina, Simon, Lola, Nadia and Vicky xxx

We had a wonderful afternoon preparing great Bosnian food with expert instructions! Mersiha was so welcoming and informative about the traditions of BiH cooking techniques and origins. We got to enjoy delicious stuffed vegetables and pies of which we made the filo from scratch while taking in a gorgeous view from the hilltop. It was a real highlight of our trip to Sarajevo!

This was the best cooking class ever! Mersi is soooo kind and welcoming right away it felt like arriving at a friends house, and she explained the recipes so well and showed us demos and then we got to make everything (and eat everything) and also she sent us the recipes to have at home. Her recipes are seriously better than restaurants and it’s a great activity but also the best souvenir because I’m sure I’ll be making these dishes for the rest of my life. 10/10 recommend for everyone.

We learned so much about making philo dough from scratch & about recipes for common Bosnian pastries. We are also going to try freezing in-season vegetables as they do. We spent the entire afternoon making, eating our pastries, & drinking excellent locally-priduced wines. I highly recommend these cooking lessons.

This cooking lesson is so much more than just cooking a meal. Mershia was an excellent host who shared stories from her life while she taught us how to make phyllo pastry, which is an art in itself. All the ingredients for the stuffed vegetables came from her garden which we enjoyed with a glass of homemade cornelian cherry juice. This is an experience not to be missed and was the highlight of my trip to the Balkans.

Mersiha gave us a warm welcome and entertained us while we waited for the other participants, serving us homemade blackcurrant juice. As soon as we were ready, the culinary journey began. Not only did we learn how to make filo pastry and a real Bosnian pita. We made chard japraks and stuffed peppers with delicious minced meat and vegetarian fillings. Mersiha also gave us lots of anecdotes and tips. After it came out of the oven, we ate it all. So if you want to experience real life in Sarajevo, this is the place to go. If you haven't experienced it, you're really missing out

The cooking class in Sarajevo was a delightful experience, blending culinary skills with cultural insights. The chef expertly guided us through traditional Bosnian recipes, emphasizing hands-on learning and fun. We prepared delicious dishes like the flaky Bosnian pita, using fresh ingredients and shared stories that enriched our understanding of the local cuisine.

The class ended with a communal meal, a testament to the day's hard work and new friendships formed. It was more than just a cooking class; it was a celebration of community and culture. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Sarajevo!
