A man on a horse with the country's flag. You have likely seen a similar statue many times in many other countries. The square itself is a must see in Tirana and the statue is part of the story. Take a picture and move on.

I, personal speaking, am not too in love with statues and monuments. However, this one is right there, centrally located in the main square, so I did not make a special trip to see it, just enjoyed its presence

The statue is In a very central position in the main city square. It is a good representation of the national hero.

You are able to get so close to this statue, it's brilliant. At the time of my visit there was, I believe, maintenance to the structure of the statue. Or some sort or staging? But still a brilliant attraction and proudly positioned in the square.

Really interesting place to stand and take in the historical importance of Tirana. This statue and surrounding area is a must see. There was a lot of construction going on when we were there so believe this will be more impressive in the future. Nice...More

Spent some time in the square, it was huge and had water running across the surface to keep it cool in summer. There were some interesting statues and a cool new building under construction

The Skanderbeg monument is impressive, if not somewhat intimidating. It is a fitting tribute to one of the country's true heroes but I wonder why it has been stuck off to the side of the square. It should be right in the middle where the...More

Skanderberg is Albania's national hero so he takes his place here in the main square. It is a good landmark to look out for as you walk around Tirana, but tall buildings do that job better. It is an OK statue of an imposing man...More

Sadly, when I visited, it was largely obscured by scaffolding, lighting, netting, cameras, etc. for an outdoor concert/festival. So, it was difficult to get a good sense of the statue itself.

This is a center piece of square. If you want to take a picture, plan photographing it in afrernoon since the sun will be behind your back
