This is a statue on a Main road in Tirana so is just to observe. Looks very similar to a lot of other Statues.

The main square of Tirana looks nice, great place to take some stunning photos of the statue and the surrounding buildings.

National hero. Large grassy square. Unusual helmet. Albania flag. You have to walk by in the city centre. Great photo. End. Oh, except for the young man who climbed to the top to have his picture taken. Didn't wait around to watch him fall off...

What more do you want from your statues. Plus Albanian flag technology is far advanced to the rest of the world - it always seemed to be billowing and facing us for scenic pictures!

If you are in Tirana you can't miss Skanderbeg Square and the statue (which replaced a statue of Stalin). Notice his unusual helmet (I think that is a goat skull & horns on the top?) - the original is in a museum in Vienna, but you will see the same helmet displayed throughout Albania as the symbol of the Kastrati... You must see Skanderbeg, Albanian hero, on his horse! Great statue dominating the town square. A symbol of independence, national and local pride

A strong statue in the middle of a large traffic island. It is free to see and sets the scene for the surrounding area.

This statue is interesting, although to be honest I would not go too far out of my way to look for it. Having said that, if you are a tourist then you will most likely be in the area already, since it is in Skanderbeg Square; a very central location in Tirana. In this case, certainly take the opportunity to... More
