What more do you want from your statues. Plus Albanian flag technology is far advanced to the rest of the world - it always seemed to be billowing and facing us for scenic pictures!

If you are in Tirana you can't miss Skanderbeg Square and the statue (which replaced a statue of Stalin). Notice his unusual helmet (I think that is a goat skull & horns on the top?) - the original is in a museum in Vienna, but you will see the same helmet displayed throughout Albania as the symbol of the Kastrati... You must see Skanderbeg, Albanian hero, on his horse! Great statue dominating the town square. A symbol of independence, national and local pride

A strong statue in the middle of a large traffic island. It is free to see and sets the scene for the surrounding area.

This statue is interesting, although to be honest I would not go too far out of my way to look for it. Having said that, if you are a tourist then you will most likely be in the area already, since it is in Skanderbeg Square; a very central location in Tirana. In this case, certainly take the opportunity to... More

The statue portrays Scanderbeg. The Albanian national hero that freed them from the Ottomans. It's a symbol of Tirana. Square always under construction though

Like the whole country, you should go check it out.The traffic around this statue is crazy. The statue is not very special, but since you are in the capital, you should go and check it.

Albanians Skanderbeg I knew as a collaborator of the Czech King George of Podebrady in the 15th century. In Albania, I know that it is the Albanian national hero. His portrait is not only on the square in Tirana, but also eg.in the castle of Kruja.

Statue is based on a very important National Hero but not necessarily something you need to spend half the day seeing but it is very conveniently located and makes it accessible to all, so why not?

Located in the middle of the park, surrounded by a number of major attraction. You won't miss it if you are in the heart of Tirana
