As the former HQ of the surveillance going on during this recent period of Albania's history, this museum gives a fascinating and chilling insight into the extreme methods used to watch and control people's lives. Well documented in Albanian and English, a must see place...More

700 Lek seemed expensive compared to most other things in Tirana but there is a lot to see and learn here. It was once a private home that eventually became the HQ of the secret police. Fascinating how they listened and watched all aspects of...More

Hundreds of millions of people today live under regimes using the same methods as Hoxhas Security Service. This museum gives good insights in surveillance techniques, recruitement of informers, state propaganda methods, etc.

We visited here and it was worth the time to walk through it. The history, while a sad, was a very good documentation of how things were back then.

Mostly fax documents, pictures or some old apparatuses. However, some movie(?), recorded clips were very good to watch. Someone who lived in Albania as a translator(French embassy), tells a vivid experience when he was here in 1970’s for 3 years.
