In front of the neighborhood where communist party officials used to reside, once dissident writer Lubonja and sculptor Isufi made this composition. Girders from Spaç prison, a bunker and a piece of the Berlin wall make up the monument. I did not find this work very convincing about the 'atrocities of communism'. There never was a wall around Albania to keep people inside, though control of the border was very tight. There were hundreds, if not thousands of (defensive) bunkers spread all over the country, not just near the living quarters of officials. Prisons to lock up political opponents exist in most countries of the world, especially for those who want to take up arms. This is not to defend the communist regime, but without context the monument is rather meaningless.

I imagine many visitors pass this 3 section monument without a second glance. There are thousands of similar bunkers throughout the country, and the brightly painted section of the Berlin Wall looks like a grade school art project. The third section, the concrete supports, are actually the heart of the monument as they are from the Spac labour camp, where thousands political prisoners suffered from 1968-90. A visit to the monument with this information makes the experience far more meaningful.

With a Communist-era bunker, struts from a notorious Albanian prison from the same era and a slice of the Berlin Wall, this site commemorates a recent past many would like to forget. In isolation they're not all that powerful (or even photogenic), but they're imbued with meaning.

The memorial was created in memory of those who suffered who were killed under the Communist regime. It includes a pillbox bunker and concrete mineshaft supports from a prison at Spaci. It has become a makeshift focus point for the many who simply disappeared. The location was an entry point for an area reserved for party elite, ordinary Albanians were not allowed to enter. Unfortunately the small park is now in a poor state of repair, so much more could be made of the site.

This area is a park that signifies the time when communist rule was still in force, but now replaced by democracy. Here you’ll find joists and beams from one of Albania’s labour camps, a bunker and a section of the Berlin Wall donated after the fall of East Germany. Poignant reminders of that era so it never returns.

Take a selfie in the bunker. Also a bit of the Berlin wall to symbolize the likeness between paranoiac regimes. Mineshaft supports from a prison chillingly reminds you of the fate of political prisoners. Fitting objects at the entrance of the privileged elite's gated community.

Albania and East Germany are sharing a common past so its no surprise that a part of the Berlin Wall is displayed here as well.

A triangle made of a bunker, pilars of Spaç (worst communism era prison in Albania) and Berlin wall, respectively representing, the isolation, the suffering and the relief. All three put in the same cycle symbolizing the infinite loop in case of forgetting the history.

Its nice to see some elements of 'dark tourism' in Albania, related to the dictatorship. Postbllok Monument is created in the last decade as a memorial to remind the suffering of Political Prisoners during Enver Hoxha Regime

It's surprising that in spite of the number of bunkers built during the Hoxha regime, it's surprisingly difficult to find one in Tirana (the entrance to BunkArt2 is a replica). Here, there is one that is open to view (you can go in if you don't mind braving the litter and dubious liquid on the floor). There are also at lest two others unrestored in the park as well so you can get a variety of them. There is also a monument and a segment of the Berlin wall.
