Like all shopping in Tahiti, this is no different in as much that the prices are high. We browsed and enjoyed looking at the Tahitian pearl jewellery for example but we didn't stay long and we didn't buy anything. There are other shops nearby if this isn't your cup of tea.
There is food available but be choosey.

We visited off of a cruise ship, having been before we decided to walk through the various shopping areas. There are a couple of shops that had some nice shirts, but they were not cheap. There are more shops along the streets that looked to have better pricing. We were under whelmed, but its a long day if your ship leaves the next morning.

Ok so the main market place where they sell all the fresh fruit and veg was very pleasant. On the down stairs was all the produce and you could get some meals of all types at a reasonable price. Upstairs were a lot of pearl shops and a good opportunity to have a look at all the different pearls before deciding to buy one. As far as we were concerned you just pick the pearl that you like regardless of colour etc. You'll know the one when you find it and might be surprised at the price. Some of the sales staff appeared to want to sell the biggest pearl not necessarily the right pearl, so maybe they get commission.
We also went to Vaima shops and i would rant and rave over it, a few shops but nothing much and not really worth it.
An an Aussie travelling and having been to many places, the main market is worth visiting as well as some of the surrounding street shops that sell all sorts of stuff.

We had heard some people suggesting a visit to centre but found a lot of shops either vacant or closed. We were surprised as it was a Thursday afternoon with a large cruise ship in town.
There were shops selling pearls but then nearly every second shop sells pearls in Tahiti.
Not recommended but if you have seen all the other shops in town then have a look.

Were hesitant in entering store when prompted by young lady. So glad we did. Bought an exquisite A grade semi round 10mm pearl pendant. Many thanks to the young lovely lady at Tahiti Eden. We received duty free price coming from the cruise ship Celebrity Solstice. Shall cherish the pearl. The lustre is amazing. The photo doesnt do the justice deserved for the excellent quality pearl purchased.

It was my first trip to Tahiti and I ambled into this wonderful store and just fell in love with their exquisite jewellery by Rereata - its not cheap and I bought some pieces for my gallery in Samoa. Truly original works, long necklaces, with a variety of beads and some stunning pearls throughout the necklaces. They also had a wide range of fabulous pearl jewellery. Patrick and his wife gave me a good discount and prepared papers to make my purchase duty free. I can strongyt recommend you visit Tahiti Eden as it full of tempting treats.

This place is described as a shopping mall. Be prepared to be disappointed. It has a few retail outlets, a few rather sad looking food outlets only. However if you wander the streets nearby you will find a range of clothes shops for all budgets. Some lovely clothes imported from France and America. All clothes are quite expensive due to taxes. Of course there are many pearl shops too!

The 'downtown' area of the City is an interesting spot for shopping. Shops tend to open late morning. Unique gifts. Good place to shop for pearls but you may be better off trying to find a trusting local to guide you on a pearl shop. MUST do is the food trucks that all come together in the evening! Inexpensive and delicious. Easy walking about with narrow side streets.

Forget finding cheap bargains here but you will find quality purchases... We were soon to board the Aranui and needed to find a place to buy a small amount of alcoholic beverages for our voyage. Great liquor store with a variety of anything you could desire. Lots of quality shopping of all sorts...

We enjoyed shopping in the Valma Centre. We found the Cybernesia Cafe that offered wifi for a very reasonable price. Then we went next do to the Foodzzi and ordered some food and cold drinks so we could sit at one of their tables and check our emails. The wifi was very good with a strong signal so we had little problem getting our work done. there are many small shops that are around and well worth browsing in them. Very nice place to spend some time.
