Was expecting the Markets to be more stalls selling memorabilia, so quite surprised to see that this is where the locals purchase the main bulk of their fruit, vegetables and fish. Upstairs there were shops, however a lot were empty sadly. I found it interest seeing how and where locals shop.

Lots of stalls, lots of things to see and good cheap place for souveniers. You can purchase good food at very reasonable prices. Bar upstairs.

I usually get soaps, vanilla, and pareos here. There is a wide varity of items to choose from including flowers and food. The merchants are friendly. Within walking distance from Hotel Tahiti Nui

This market is located downtown within walking distance of the Ferry Terminals. We spent about 1 hour there and you can easily cover all the market in that amount of time. The Fish and Fruit selection was very good, The Tourist items were about the same prices as in some of the surrounding shops. No Stellar Deals here.

Many of the stalls were closed, and it was excessively hot, I had hoped to buy authentic gifts but many things were imported.

No trip to Tahiti is complete without a visit to the market. We had a cold local Hinano beer and a local lunch dish upstairs while enjoying Polynesian music. Downstairs, around lunch time a group played music and danced. I loved watching the friendly ladies making flower hei outside. A visit to the fish display is a must. They sell... More

Good chocolates and nic nacs. Lots of products made in China so have a good look around. Well worth a visit but if you are looking for something different and Tahitian other than pearls, woven hats and bags try the galleries in town.

This Market has a lot of produce, fresh flowers and fish for sale. Places to buy lunch food & drinks also. There are also several tables with suvineior items. The hours stated "open until 5:00", however at 4:00 several vendors are closing up. I did manage to bargain with a couple of vendors that stayed open past 4:00. It is... More

My only regret was not allowing along enough time to shop properly at the market. Great for souvenir's! Plenty of bargains.
