If you are self driving, this attraction is easy to miss as it's not well signposted and the turnoff is almost as soon as you leave a roundabout. 15 minutes is about all you'll need as there is a dearth of information at the site...More

Quite a tombstone, apparently made from coral! It stands on Tahiti's shore and we had the opportunity to visit during a tour of the coastline from Papeete led by the most fascinating tour guide Douglas. We visited as part of the Carnival Legend's 18-day Pacific...More

While you are driving around the island you need to keep a sharp eye out for the brown point of interest signs. Not much at some of them but usually interesting. This was one of those.

There is nothing grand about the tomb of the last Tahitian king. The whole thing looks rather odd but it's worth the detour if you are driving around Tahiti. It is in front of a beach that seems to be popular with locals.

Not a lot to see here but it's another of short stop items as you travel around the item to get a sense of the history of the island.

The history of this tomb is interesting. There is not much around it, but it is worth a stop on a driving tour of the island.

Clean and well maintained, safe, scenic and historical, don't just drive by. It's not far from town and then you can stop at the Royal Tahitian Hotel and have a drink and watch the sun setting over Moorea.
