- Tracy H370 contributionsJust be awareTruly a gorgeous beach and no doubt it lives up to all its reviews. The road down is relatively short but horribly rutted and in parts dangerous so take care. As per many reviews do be aware that locals have set up their cabanas and are quite pushy. No horses any more as the fijian health department seem to have banned them on the beach. Big sign up. We did have to say a polite but final no thanks timaybe 3 different people. After that they left us alone. Water was clear and warm loads of fish too.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 4, 2023
- Denise F216 contributionsGorgeous! This is the best beach in mainland fiji. I was supposed to do an island to truly compare but due to miscommunication with SSC it didn’t happen soo I can’t compare with the island beaches buut I have travelled to many countries and I chase beaches so to speak so when I say this is a beautiful beach with a landscape, I have never seen until coming here I mean it. Just do this beach right, do a day pass at intercontinental hotel or yatule. You pay but you’ll have a secured car park, towel service and the cost includes lunch and drinks so it’s completely worth it. You could avoid the day pass if you want but it’s in an isolated area.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 29, 2024
- Dennis CRoseville, California21 contributionsGreat Snorkel experience!I rented an Airbnb in Korotogo and drove over (~45 min) to Natadola Beach. My wife had a massage at the Blue Cabanna with Kortni, while I walked east toward the large resort and snorkeled just a few yards out from shore. The snorkeling there was WONDERFUL! Lots of fish and some healthy coral.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 1, 2024
- Cat on m3 contributionsBeautiful beachAn amazing, picture perfect beach. You can snorkel right off the shore, look for the dark-blue patches and come during high tide. There aren't many food options on the beach, so pack a lunch if you don't want to eat at one of the resorts. The intercontinental offers a day pass which includes $65 (or $32.50 for children) worth of dining credit for their restaurants and pool access, and costs $65 for adults or $35 for children. However, this isn't available during peak periods such as July. There are local people who will try to sell things like massages or coconuts, but we found that most of them will leave you alone once you make it clear you aren't interested. A taxi from outside Gecko's Resort cost us $20 after haggling it down from $30, and we were quoted $35 each way for transfers at the reception. You could also take the bus down to the junction between Queen's road and the turnoff to the beach and try to get a taxi to the beach from there, as we were told no buses go between the beach and Queen's highway. A taxi between the beach and Queen's road cost us $10.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 10, 2024

It's a beautiful beach with horses you can rent for a reasonable price. The nicest parts of the beach are in front of the 2 resorts. We paid $35 Fiji Dollars to Yatule Resort to use their beach and they gave us a $35 Fiji Dollar credit that we could use at their restaurant. It was definitely worth it as we were able to use their parking lot and seating area on the sand. However, I didn't find the staff of Yatule Resort to be particularly nice, but we still felt like we got our money's worth. The road to get to this beach and this resort is in terrible condition but it we were still able to slowly drive on it with our 2-wheel drive rented car. Also, there are hardly any signs and your GPS will probably not get you directly there. You will probably need to ask locals, that you run in to, for directions.

Had a long drive but it was worth it when we got there. The beach is clean, the water is turquoise, the sand is fine and white and the swimming is fantastic. It was the Fiji we saw in the brochures! We were told to take the Yatule resort exit but the road was pretty rough (dirt) and had to turn in via the intercontinental. You have to pay $FJD40 to get into the resort that you then reclaim by buying lunch or using the spa at the resort

Amazing beach except for the locals pushing their services
When I first arrived I pulled up at the colorful tents and was directed where to park. Realizing that we were being lined up for a hard sell I reversed the car and continued down the road where I found another entry to the beach. We hoped out of the car and inspected the beach looking for the snorkelling spot. Deciding we had to go further down the beach to snorkel we headed back to the car when a local from the main pack appeared with two horses. He had chased us down the beach. He was at first trying to push horse rides for the children. He introduced himself and continued promoting his horse riding service, but after several no thankyous he accepted. We weren't riding the horses, he also tried to sell coconuts again many no thankyous, we informed him we were only here to snorkel with our own equipment. He told us it was dangerous and we needed a local guide. No thankyou again and we hoped in the car and drove further down the road, his final words do you remember my name yes. We found another parking spot and sat down on the beach, in less then 5 mins he was back carrying his snorkel, now trying to push his guided snorkel tour. Again many no thanks, we actually told him we were no longer snorkelling due to the current. That was the last we saw of him but not the end of the harassing. Thinking it was all clear me and my wife left the children 10+16 on the sand and went swimming. From the water we watched as two different males appeared out of the bushes on horses asking if the children if they wanted to ride the horses. By this stage I was over it. We had a quick family swim and then left. They had totally ruined our experience with the stalking and harassment to use their services
The beach is amazing and worthy of 5 stars
Everyone please do not support these locals who harass tourists, be strong with your no thankyous and they will eventually get the message.
You'll be doing the horses a favour as well.
If you want to ride horses go find a fiji certified business
The beach itself truly is one of the best on the coral coast. To snorkel keep driving down road past the tents. The reef goes all the way to the end of the beach so you can keep driving for a while. The carparks are little roads off to the left

This was a lovely beach with a good coral reef and many fish to see within snorkeling distance from the shore. The beach had a lot of tidal wood debris at the high tide line that you had to carefully walk around to access the water. Also, recent storms had reduced the normally very clear water to slightly less visibility. The downside of this beach is that there are really NO amenities unless you are staying at one of the two adjacent resorts, or pay their "visitor" fee. One of the resorts would not even let us use the bathroom or bar even if we purchase something at the bar. The local people were selling various products on the beach and offering massages for the beachgoers.

Very beautiful beach. I see wonderful corals and colourful fishes here that I don't see in the resort or sailing day tours.
Be prepared for going through the "hustle and bustle" of the local vendors for massages and horse riding (but they are really cheap compared to those in AU).

The road to get to this beach is hardly a road and we were temporarily blocked on this road by a herd of pigs.
Also the pin for this beach on Google Maps is slightly off so you may have to ask locals how to find this beach.
When we got to the beach parking lot, we saw 2 beautiful high end resorts. In between the resorts there were a large number of tents there that were put up by local women who were selling massage services. These women were local and appeared to be strictly only selling massage services trying to make ends meet.
The beach access in between the 2 resorts was beautiful but it was hard to enjoy it for any length of time without someone coming up to us and asking if we wanted a massage.
We did enjoy this beach and the beautiful sunset but it is surprising that these 2 resorts have to deal with massage services right next to them.

Beach is gorgeous.
All the reviews about the people on the beach trying to get you to buy massages or hair braiding or boat rides or horse rides, are correct. HOWEVER, in our experience, if you say you are not interested they immediately say “okay, no worries” and walk away.
We walked down to in front of the Intercontinental Hotel and posted up in front of the sand bar.
Please note, you CANNOT go into the Intercontinental for anything unless you are staying there. We thought we could get lunch there but we were wrong.
My husband ended up walking down to the other side of the beach and grabbed food at the restaurant there where you had to buy a voucher. Either way, that took awhile but he had a few drinks there so he was fine.
Water was warm, views were nice.

the beach is beautiful but completely spoiled by the constant hassle of vendors, whether it is for a massage, or horse ride, or a boat ride. Extremely annoying and ruins the experience of being able to appreciate a simple walk along the beach. It did not help that there was a massive argument to the point of physicality between a female vendor, and her male relative regarding some business issue right in the tent where my friend as getting a massage. Seriously, this area needs proper policing, and I feel sorry for the patrons who stay at the resort on this beach.

I am looking for a good snorkelling opportunity in Fiji. I am travelling there in July. I will spend 4 days at Taveuni Island, near Rainbow Reef and I have 4 more days to enjoy corals and snorkeling. I am a snorkelling fan, visited Raja Ampat and Nth Sulawesi a few times and was spoiled by beautiful corals there. I intended to visit the Yasawa islands but most affordable resorts are booked out. Also, I looked at the Mamanuca islands.
Someone recommend Natadola Beach as an option for good snorkelling. Maybe that, with some sailing snorkeling tours could satisfy me for those 4 days. I am 74 with my partner of the same age and we are interested only in good snorkelling, not white sandy beaches. As you seem to have similar taste in snorkeling I would like to have your opinion on what be good options for me
Written May 28, 2024
I found excellent snorkeling straight out from the resort on the east side of Natadola Beach. I drove in toward the Blue Cabana to gain access to the public beach, and then walked east to the resort.
Written May 29, 2024
When snorkeling at Natadola, where should I swim from the beach? … East toward the point, or west to the other side of the beach?
Written February 27, 2024
Hi DCFiji
Are you staying by Natadola beach? If you are, local knowledge will be better than my vague answer. If you are driving there, be aware it is a little remote. I am not sure what food and drink is on offer and no money machines when we were there.
But it is a wonderful beach with friendly people

does anyone know how far this is from the doubletree hilton and if anyone has hired a car to get there, pricing? thanks

Hi - after our stay at the Intercontinental Fiji we then stayed at the Sofitel at Denarau Island and it took around 50/60 mins in a taxi to get there. Google Maps would seem to confirm this.

Where is the best place to park for a few hours and have lunch in a restaurant? Or is this discouraged as a day tripper?
Written July 29, 2018
We ended up parking at the beach but when we wanted lunch parked at Yatule. To eat there we had to prepare pay $35 each. The food was great though!

Im arriving at Port Denarau on a cruise ship and thinking of going around Nadi and possibly Natadola Beach with my family. There are 10 of us, so emough to fill a mini bus (5 adults, 5 kids). Im wondering are there any drivers that would take us around for the day to places like that? I'm hoping to spend $150 or so (if its possible) to hire a mini bus and driver. Online bookings seem too expensive, so I'm wondering if anyone has had a good deal privately and if they have contact details of their driver to share?
Written May 29, 2018
Our group of 7 adults also needed the mini bus and the best rate we found was $400 FJD for the driver to take us, wait and bring us back to our hotel

como se llega a la isla de enfrente de Natadola beach? de donde salen los barcos?
Written January 7, 2018
Hi. We are arriving in Lautoka on The Radiance of the Sea ship on January 10th 2018. We would like to spend 3 or 4 hours at Natadola Beach and have lunch at the Intercontinental Resort. What is the cheapest way to get there? Taxi? Will anyone be running a mini van for passengers to get to Natadola Beach?
Regards
Sherene
Written November 10, 2017
Well it is possible to get a bus from the Lautoka bus stand going to Suva but if it is not an express it will take you hours just to get to the Tuvu junction then you may be fortunate enough to find a taxi there but more than likely not. Then more waiting. If you were staying in Fiji then fine but on a cruise ship time is of the essence. You would be far better off to get a cab into the bus station and arrange a mini bus or 5 seat taxi and negotiate a price for the day including waiting time
As long as you have a full complement of passengers it could cost around $30 nz pp. Don't hold me to that price but you can negotiate something acceptable to you and the driver.
