About
Eco Trax Fiji is a world's first! Electric assisted bicycles mounted side by side on a carriage on the old sugar cane tram line. A true adventure taking you along the beautiful Coral Coast of Fiji. A gentle cruise using as much or as little energy as you choose through villages, rock cuttings, mangroves, rain forest and pristine coastline to arrive at our unspoiled deserted beach where you can swim and enjoy local fruits and coconut. An hour spent here then ride back to base with the wind in your hair and a guaranteed smile on your face! You will learn the history of the sugar cane industry in the area as well as about the fijian way of life. Lots of animals and friendly locals along the way add to this truly unique experience. Ages 1 - 100 and beyond! We have child seat attachments for the 1-3yr olds who ride for free and bench seats for the older or disabled. Nobody needs to be left behind.

This was our first trip to Fiji and we wanted to take advantage of this highly rated experience. We book transportation from our rental on the Coral Coast. The driver arrived on time (not Fiji time) and drove us to the Ecotrax location. We were directed into the "hanger" where we paid and the children in our group received their helmets. We had 10 people (adults and children) and the staff were excellent with the various age groups. Once the instructions were given and seats adjusted for our height, we began traveling along the rail tracks. I appreciated the history lesson prior to our departure (British then Fijian). We rode for a short bit and then the tour guides made sure we were all comfortable on the bikes. From there we traveled through some villages, countryside, and along the coast. The scenery was lovely whether through lush greenery, waving at the locals, or watching the ocean. Once at our destination we were give a specified length of time to swim, snorkel, or wander. The staff prepared fresh fruit for our enjoyment. We learned to squeeze lime on our fresh papaya which was delicious. When our time at the beach was up we packed up and pedaled back the way we had come and ended up back at Ecotrax headquarters. It was well worth the time and effort.

Everything was great on this tour - from the ease of booking via email to our transfers and the ride itself. Brittany and Dolly were fantastic guides but watch the "Bulashit' LOL. They were both really knowledgeable and fun. The ride is easy and suited for all ages. Stopping at a local school, the kids all ran out to greet us and then sung a song. The secluded beach was great for a swim and snorkel. Lunch was beautiful fresh fruit. The ride as a good mix of being under the canopy of trees to being in the open.
The carriages have areas you can put your bag - we took our own snorkel gear etc.

Ecotrax was a truly unique incredible Fijian experience today.
Our group of 10 had a throughly enjoyable day with our informative, accomodating and entertaining tour guides Brittany and Dolly.
Riding on the tracks you will see schools and villages whilst absorbing the native surroundings. It’s a fun, informative and memorable day.
We loved stopping at the secluded beach for refreshments and a swim (thank you Dolly for encouraging young Adam to eat his fruit 😂)
Brittany, you’re amazing and inspiring in so many ways and will never be forgotten. Thank you for making the day absolutely perfect 🙏

We did the morning session of the Ecotrax tour and had an absolute blast. Our guides Doli and Brittney were absolutely hilarious, entertaining and just so much fun as well as being informative and professional. The Velocipedes themselves are such a great innovative concept and utilising the sugar cane railroad is such a smart idea. we loved that we could pedal power the velocipedes to do some exercise or if we were feeling lazy we could just kick in the electrics and take photos and videos of the beautiful scenery. Weaving through jungles and crossing over wooden bridges while taking in views of the beaches and ocean, animals such as cows, horses and goats along the way and passing through two traditional Fijian villages and meeting the village chief was a really cool experience. The little village kids running up to give us high fives were just too cute. When we reached our end destination which was a beautiful secluded beach we could go swimming/snorkelling for an hour and there was a nice undercover rest area that had tables and chairs and cool swinging chairs suspended from the trees. Doli and Brittney had plenty of fresh local fruits such as pineapples, bananas and papayas for us to eat, as well as fresh coconuts and chilled water to quench our thirst. They told plenty of funny stories so that we got an idea of local life and how fun it was and time flew by because we were having so much fun. Then it was back on the bikes to head back to base where we got to go through the two villages again and high five the cute little village children. We really enjoyed our Ecotrax experience and would highly recommend it as one of the must do activities if you are in Fiji. Definitely deserving of the tourism award that they have won. Vinaka to the Ecotrax team for a wonderful, memorable experience.

Ecotrax lives up to all the hype. You are in for a real treat and holiday highlight when you book in for a tour. Dolly and Britney are absolute stars and their senses of humour will have you grinning from ear to ear as you cycle through little villages along the beautiful Fijian coastline. Don't walk, RUN to get yourselves on one of the Ecotrax bikes! 🚲 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is an activity that not only provides enjoyment for several hours but also provides valuable economic support for surrounding villages. The guides take you through some beautiful scenery and villages on powered bikes for about an hour. The end of the line is a wonderful secluded cove that is as private as it can get. You spend an hour at the site in warm water and white sand and the staff prepare fresh fruit for you to snack on. Our guide, Dolly, was a bundle of pure energy and made every effort to keep us entertained. We were also able to stop at a couple of villages and gave out some pencils and school supplies to village kids. What a wonderful and meaningful afternoon in Fiji.

Britney was an excellent tour guide, she kept us laughing the entire trip! We highly recommend this nature tour through the Fiji jungle, villages, pastures, and coastal areas. The snorkel at a secluded beach was superb. Highly recommend the morning ride for this experience. You can pedal as much or as little as you like.

We went on a morning ride hosted by Dolly “Parton” the chocolate version, not only was the experience beautiful, with stunning scenery and cute little village children welcoming us on our ride through, it was also funny; Dolly was absolutely HILARIOUS with her sense of humour. I can not recommend this highly enough.
It’s also a very easy ride for the lowest of fitness levels, give it a go!

Before we actually attended, every local person we spoke to had nothing but praise for Ecotrax. Having spent an afternoon here, I can see why - this is a prime example of what a 'local' experience should be. The historically significant CSR/FSC railway infrastructure has a starring role here, with the base housed in a former railyard, and the electrical bikes making use of the tracks laid in the 1800's. Staff (Britney and Dolly) are the perfect balance of entertaining, knowledgeable and professional. You get to see a side of the country few would have had access to, and at close quarters. The destination beach is a really good spot for snorkelling and/or a splash, and the fresh fruit and coconut juice was just perfect. Highly recommended for all fitness levels - you can be as active or inactive a cycler as you choose. Do it! You won't regret it.

Interesting tour made better by vibrant and entertaining staff.
The snack lunch was beautiful. The staff took care of our young kids to allow us to enjoy it more.
I know it’s common to ask people for reviews on trip advisor but guys you were a bit over the top. Every second comment was ‘5 star trip advisor review’ please.
I enjoyed riding with dolly, half of her commentary was made up crap but entertaining all the same. Riders who were on their own missed out on that. My suggestion would be to include some kind of intercom to allow everyone to hear the commentary.

Bike seats can be really uncomfortable - do you have alternative seating ?

Bula, there is a wooden bench seat on each velocipede which we add a cushion to, so two guests on the bike seats and one can ride on the bench if they prefer.

My husband is right at the weight limit. I'm worried about booking in case he gains a little bit before or during our trip. Do they weigh passenger on a scale beforehand?

There was no weighing in before the ride. You can always talk to Mandy and her team because from what I have experienced, they will go out of their way to accommodate your needs to enjoy their amazing rides.

Is it best to get a package with transportation from a Nadi hotel (around $98) or just find transportation myself and buy the rides package ($60).
What time would the pick up be for the morning rides from Nadi?
Bula,Ecotrax can arrange return transfers from Nadi hotels so for more information regarding this please fill in a submission form on our website for pricing of transfers.

No we supply light refreshments at the beach stop for both morning and afternoon tours.
This consists of a platter of 3 local fruits, brown coconut flesh, and drinks of cold bottled water and fresh green coconut juice straight from the tree.
Our morning tour arrives back at our base at 12pm and our afternoon tour guests arrive at 1.30pm for their 2pm departure.
