Denarau Beach January 2017

Lovely sun sets. Although the sand is dark, it is a beautiful place to swim, be and see. There are lots of activities available at hand. Motorized sports, paragliding etc

Too Expensive. Its a matter for the comp[any but when you go into the store the handicrafts are excellent but to most eyes they are far too expensive. The company needs to consider a more realistic price approach to attract customers and sell many more products. These goods are machine made so it should be possible to have a more realistic price and... The beach itself is nothing special...not the beautiful clear blue water one typically expects in a tropical paradise. This is likely because Denarau is a man made island. However Denarau itself is fabulous because of the resorts and the layout and the activities on offer. Every resort has amazing huge swimming pools so there is little need to swim in... More

Staying at the Hilton the walk is a little further along to the point for a great sunset view. The beach walk along there is beautiful anyway. Daily, any seaweed is picked up, so is very clean to the eye, and very easy on the feet. Covering ap. 4-5 of the major hotels, its nice to wander through the garden... More

Denarau is not known for its fabulous beaches. There is sand and salt water but that is where it all ends. The water is cloudy, I like to see my feet when I walk in the water. In the afternoon the wind can pick up and get very unpleasant. Stick to the pools or head out on a day charter... More

Nadi is not really my place to stay. When we travel to Fiji we stay at the Mango Bay Resort- half way between Nadi and Suva and between Sigatoka and Pacific Harbour. However, we have stayed in Nadi overnight before catching a flight home to Australia. Denarau Beach is probably the number one spot to visit in the evening (depending... More

The beach itself is not that good, black sand but the resort hotels facing this beach have great pools. You can walk along the beach front from the Hilton, past the Sofitel, Westin,Sheraton Villas,Sheraton,Radisson and Wyndham resorts.

We stayed at the Sheraton and Westin Hotels in Denarau. Both were excellent resort hotels similar to what you would find in Hawaii. The Sheraton Villas Ocean View were excellent.
