Denarau is not known for its fabulous beaches. There is sand and salt water but that is where it all ends. The water is cloudy, I like to see my feet when I walk in the water. In the afternoon the wind can pick up and get very unpleasant. Stick to the pools or head out on a day charter... More

Nadi is not really my place to stay. When we travel to Fiji we stay at the Mango Bay Resort- half way between Nadi and Suva and between Sigatoka and Pacific Harbour. However, we have stayed in Nadi overnight before catching a flight home to Australia. Denarau Beach is probably the number one spot to visit in the evening (depending... More

We stayed at the Sheraton and Westin Hotels in Denarau. Both were excellent resort hotels similar to what you would find in Hawaii. The Sheraton Villas Ocean View were excellent.

Go to the far end Towards Wyndham its better that side and closer to the river mouth its a nice place for picnics. worst place to swim due to it being a former mangrove swmap. great for jogs and the best sunsets in fiji can offer from here.

Denarau Beach is not your typical beach. It is however, lovely in its own way. The water is not as blue as it is in many parts of Fiji but it is fine for water sports and in parts OK for swimming. Walking from the Westin to the Sheraton along the waters edge is lovely especially at sunset or early... More

I am told Denarau Island is reclaimed and so many parts of the beach have large stones (rip rap) to protect for erosion. There are spots where the sand runs into the ocean so you can have the traditional beach experience. The beaches have a long pathway that interconnects the many resorts on Denarau Island so you can easily go... More

Poor beach lined by a collection of big luxury hotels. I wouldn't know why anyone should stay here unless you like a holiday in a totally exchangeable Sheraton, Hilton, Radisson, Westin or whatever. Well, don't get me wrong, I do like luxurious resorts. But the location must be right. Denarau is not my type of place.
