We came across this interesting monument while walking around Montevideo. Stagecoach Monument is a historical spot from where you would be able to see the types of vehicle used in Uruguay during 20th century. The monument is made up of gray granite and bronze. Here you will see the stunning sculpture of a vehicle is run by five horses –it is stuck in mud and the coachman is standing on box with a whip in his hand. On the davit, the woman is sitting with her child on the lap.

On of the more intricate & well done monuments in the Park. The Park itself is well worth seeing since there are other monuments too.

Unveiled in 1952, the work is by Uruguayan sculpture artist Jose Belloni. A passenger coach is pulled by four strong horses, a tribute to early transportation in Uruguay.

La Diligencia; The Stagecoach, is located in Prada Park and it is included on many of the city tours. It’s a beautiful sculpture; “The Diligence,” was created by José Belloni. Well worth seeing along with another of his sculptures; La Carreta; the covered wagon.

Another amazing piece of sculpture that is being ruined by thieves taking lumps of the metal away. So much mossing from this one now, go and see it before it is no more

This is really a beautifully sculpted piece and it is worth stopping at or driving by slowly if you are in Montevideo. It is very detailed.

This famous monument was constructed by a famous sculpture man, named Belloni, I remember that his brother in 1969 , was at time the Manager of the Victoria Plaza, really a gentleman.

Not far from the football stadium so we stopped and walked around the sculpture. You cannot get too close and the area is alarmed. It is in Prado Park and created by Jose Belloni. Lovely setting and worth looking at.

This is just a spot with a very nice big sculpture. I would stop if I am in the area, otherwise just drive by and take a picture.
