Not the most interesting of places to visit, however, the bronze monument-sculpture is in honour of those fallen in the line of duty for the navy. The attractive sculpture represents marine animals and the hands of a man. There are good views across the bay to Montevideo. It's a little way out of the city and probably not worth the drive.

This place is located half way between the airport and downtown and a must stop for sunset photos and/or panoramic photos of the coastline. It is a nice spot to sit on the grass and just enjoy the view. The Rambla (or waterfront road) goes around this elevated area of grass lawn and rock. The Hemingway Restaurant is right below and offers a great location for lunch, cocktails and dinner with a great view of the River Plate.

We stopped here as part of our city tour from the cruise ship. There is a tribute to Uruguayan naval personnel lost on duty and a bronze fallen soldier memorial sculpture.

A tribute to Uruguayan naval personnel lost on duty (SAR etc. because Uruguayan has had no naval battles). A beautiful spot east of the city proper, set on a slight prominence along the coast.

The place is beautifully kept and offers a nice but short opportunity for visitors to relax and take some super photographs. The monument is quite stunning and the surrounding area was peaceful and not too busy with tourists that you could not easily get photographs on your own

We stopped here on a city tour shore excursion. It has a nice view of the coastline, a view of the city of Montevideo on the right, and a bronze fallen soldier memorial scuplture. There isn't really any hiking or other activities here. It is near a suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of the city

Statue of man's fight with the creatures of the sea. Off to the side a large park area with a view of the city.

Scenic view of the water. Tourist restaurant below. There are diplomats' homes in the area so be aware. Not a good idea to take pics of them.

I was here about an hour just to view the water and enjoy the setting sun. I think sunset and sunrise are the best times to visit. Well tended plants and flowers.
