Can get on and off at several stops which were mainly shopping centres.

Very good way of exploring the city for the first time. The seats were comfortable and the top deck has a cover which was great because it was 30oc! Each conductor I encountered was friendly and helpful. The stops were great and I got on and off at most stops. I liked that it had a stop at the main coach terminal. Apart from the first stop the bus was running about 20 minutes behind schedule due to traffic. I paid in Pesos and was with it.

We are in Montevideo for about a day and a half and wanted to try to experience as much as we could... but also like to walk around and discover things on our own. It is also late fall and the weather has been awful (rain, cold and high winds).... so we booked the hop on hop off bus.
Pros:
- really easy to use
- covered to keep us out of the rain
- spoke english
- ran on time while we used it
Cons:
- expensive (probably could have taken taxis for less but we only hit three spots)
- video tour and headphones are awful
- indoor seating was limited (important on a rainy day)
- indoor windows completely fogged up (makes touring hard)

We've been travelling for a while and this was by far the worst tour bus experience ever! We hop off in tres cruces for a quick bite to eat hoping to get the next bus at 4pm according to the timetable.. But along with other tourists we stood there in the stop for over an hour and in the meantime my handbag was snatched by 2 pickpockets (one of them in a motorcycle) so tourists be aware! Because it was Sunday there was no police anywhere around so I had to jump into a taxi to go the police station. I've reported the episode to the Buquebus team and also to the department of tourism of Montevideo but hadn't heard nothing back!

On our recent visit to Montevideo ,we thought it would be a good choice to take the Hop on hop on off bus .Since we were on a cruise, the terminal of the bus was very near the harbor. Actually we paid an amount of about 24$ ,but it was a waste of money.
The bus driver was running with a speed of approximately 70km /h which was too much for sightseeing. The whole tour lasted 2 hours, without getting off. But if you'd liked to get off and you have a limited time for a visit in Montevideo ,it would be very difficult to catch the next bus since it would be overcrowded so you have to wait for the next one.
With the same amount of money there are a lot of private vehicles, just outside the harbor area, that offer you a tour to Montevideo, and they stop in many places

We have done similar on off bus trips in Dublin, Paris and Buenos Aires and always loved it. Not this one - expensive, poor done narration with long intervals of nothing of interest. They did not adhere to the 2 minute stops which caused us to miss the museum we got on the trip for in the first place and then yelled at us for not sitting down as we were trying to get off. They left two women standing at a stop on the other side of the city telling them they had got on and off too many times. At the last stop they kicked everyone off even though many wanted to go back to the first stop where they got on. The assistant said we would have to wait an hour for the next bus if we wanted to go again, though the advertising said 24 hour unlimited access. Frankly I believe he was lying as his response to “What are we supposed to do for an hour,” was, How would I know?”
There is much to see in Montevideo but pick your spots and take a cab. Our drivers have been universally friendly and helpful.

With only a few hours in Montevideo, we chose the HopOn/HopOff as a good way to get a sense of the city. The bus was crowded, and even on the top deck visibility was not good. There is an all language headphone system that narrates were you are going, but very few of them were in working order. The bus only comes once an hour, and some of the stops were so crowded that we hesitated to "hop off" to explore. Since Montevideo can be traffic heavy, the appointed bus stops are a few blocks prior to the areas of interest, and we did not know to get off until after it was too late. The city is beautiful, but I would not recommend this as the best way to get a sense of it.

The hop on hop off bus circles Montevideo with the main stop or first pick up being the port district. Very reasonable at USD21 and I caught the bus from Punta Carretas Shopping Centre.
The onboard audio is terrific with a a variety of languages providing a constant and informative flow of history and current affairs.
The bus has many stops along the way, 12 I believe possibly more, and can provide a wonderful way to see the highlights of Montevideo in a day, if well planned. The port district is a nice start to the tour with souvenir stores, local vendors and plenty of eating options.
Would highly recommend this as it allows you to get a good perspective on what to see, where to go in Montevideo as well a providing an informative historical view on this wonderful city

We travel extensively and one of the best innovations of the last decade or two has been the proliferation of HOHO buses around the world. They are usually the best way to get an overall feeling for a location and while some are better than others, Bus Turistico Montevideo is up there with the best.
Pick up is adjacent to the cruise port, the commentary was good and well synchronised, staff were pleasant and helpful and the route appeared to cover most of the key sites. Payment can be by ccard or cash (incl $US).
We were impressed by Montevideo and this was enhanced by the two hours spent on Bus Turistico.

We arrived on a cruise ship. We went to the ticket office that was opposite the port entrance, very convenient. They told us that one of the buses had broken down and there was a coach, but that had no commentary, as it a modern coach why couldn't they find a guide to do the commentary. What was the point? We wanted to learn about the city. The next one was one hour, so we waited, only to be turned away from the next one because though there were seats on it still they considered it full! Having wasted more than a hour, we asked for our money back and found a very knowledgeable taxi driver. Who for less and with good english gave us a good insight to the city. Shame they couldn't organise themselves better.

Written January 17, 2017
Clea bom dia, o ônibus turístico passa beirando a avenida do porto marítimo, quanto a você pegar o ônibus turístico saindo do cais do porto infelizmente eu não sei te informar.
