Gorgeous gothic church in the Prado neighbourhood. Lots of history here. Unfortunately it wasn't open when we arrived but still nice to see from the outside.

People used to have their wedding in this pretty church. Prado was a neighborhood for upscale society, nowadays not so. It was one of the oldest neibourhood with big houses, lovely gardens and quite big plots.

We went on a Friday afternoon and the church was closed. Still beautiful from the outside but sad we could not go in. Very strange that it was not open as most churches are. Check before going if you want to see in side.

We didn't go inside the church but we wanted to take pictures of it because it was so iconic. It reminded us a little of the Cologne Cathedral because of the spires. However, this church is unique all on its own and is a splendid architectural beauty.

This magnificent church is located in the upmarket Prado District. The Gothic Architecture is simply stunning and you cannot fail to marvel at it. A “ must stop” on any tour of the city.....

Iglesia de las Carmelitas is a bit off the beaten track in a more residential area, but it is worth it to see an excellent example of flying buttress.

We just came across the church as we were heading for the nearby park and were stunned by the magnificent gothic architecture. Impressed by the intricate stone carvings on the outside, we had a look at the interior and found a peaceful and quiet space adorned by some impressive stained glass windows.
Well worth a look.

Simply a beautiful church. The architecture was quite stunning. Clean and impressive. Gothic styled outside with a quiet inside the perfect place to take a minute and reflect. I grabbed some great pictures of this structure. So I would bring a camera.

Antonio, Eu visitei a igreja e ela estava fechada também. O bairro é bem bonito. Mas infelizmente parece que a igreja fica fechada , quase sempre.
