Have a Picnic

The best spot in town to have a picnic. Just get some cheese, bread and wine and have a nice time on the site. Cheep and pleasant program.

Parque Rodo is a huge park, which everyone loves. I can only add a tip, SUNSET. When the Sun begins to go down you will enjoy the view of the Rio de la Plata, the Rambla, the gardens and the beautiful combination of colours. Try to keep yourself in a high place, they are several but I recomend the view... More

I used to go with my kids. They have 2 parks, one for small kids and other for older o Es and even adults. If you are there you should try the CHURROS. They have plain ones and other filled with vanilla or chocolate. In USA you have some, like in Costco, but the ones in Uruguay are much better.

Parque Rodo is art of the hop on and off bus and the place is very nice. I would just say you are supposed to have more time in Montevideo to enjoy their parks more. Very well cared of and clean.

Parque Rodo is an extensive area of grass, trees and lakes close to La Rambla (the street along the waterfront) in Montevideo. Sometimes there are tourist markets on one side of it but at any time it is a good spot to picnic, sit and relax or birdwatch. We take one day cruise visitors there sometimes if they want to... Parque Rodo is a great place to explore in Montevideo, especially if you want a break from the concrete that covers most of the city. It has a relaxed atmosphere with the locals chilling (when I went, there was even someone playing Led Zeppelin on their guitar!) and there is a fair bit to see in the park itself. I... More

This great park is very well located, within walking distance from most Punta Carretas and Pocitos hotels. It is ideal for a walk and for a nice run. It almost touches Playa Ramirez and has a nice lake in it´s center. On Sunday mornings there is a great flea market where you can find almost anything.

Parque Rodo is a place with flee market, craft made products and the parque itself that is a beatiful place, yet needs some conservation. Very close to the river/rambla, 300 meters walking distance and it is possible to combine jogging x parque.

This is a well-used park by Montevideans, and there is even an organic farmers' market on Sundays. Alongside this small market is a huge market for clothing and housewares, as well as other conventionally-grown fruit and veg. Ramirez Beach, attached to the park, is one of the great places in the city to see the sunset.
