I spent several hours walking around the Prado. It is a perfectly pleasant park, if you're looking for something to do in Montevideo. But otherwise it did not seem to me worth a trip.

I know. 'La Rambla' is the best par of montevideo yo visit. One of the best places to stay as well. But then, there is El Prado. Amazing parks, really quiet surroundings, and one of the best 'tablados' for carnival season (that means the whole of february an a good piece of march). Los Yuyos, an excellent distillery is a... As perhaps the premier park in Montevideo, El Prado is dingy and dirty. The city should spend more money on maintenance to make this an enjoyable location. Skip El Prado and spend your leisure time on the Rambla (beaches).

Wonderful place for a stroll on a sunny day. An extremely relaxing and lovely park to spend a quiet afternoon away from the crowds.

Lovely walk along the river - so much greenery. Took the city bus through perhaps not the nicest areas of Montevideo to arrive at this oasis. The area also includes the botanical gardens and the rosedal. It is such a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon. Highly recommend.

I regret not have visited this place before, after 6 years living in the city we have decided to tour Montevideo by bus, what an excelent idea. The selected day was not the greatest but getting to Prado, we could forget all about the wind and the coldness and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at Hotel do Prado!

Traditional place for cattle market. Now it hosts a (?) yearly fair for agriculture and livestock exposition and trade. Place is nice, have a lot of woods, and quite natural. A nice spot in Montevideo downtown. I actually don't know wha kind of other uses they may make of the place. I've been there just for the show

The neighbourhood keeps that ancient air, with old mansions, long streets flanked by old trees and antique lights. It is specially beautilif in spring and in the fall. Several of museums are in this spot of the city. Nice place to live: quiet, very quiet. You should have a car or ride a bike... Howewer, near downtown, because Montevideo is... More
