We visited Montevideo for the first time in mid-February 2020 and were shown fascinating aspects of the city by Christine who is highly professional, extremely client-friendly, an excellent communicator and a real pleasure to be with. In our experience of many tour guides, she is at the absolute top of the list for us. We were taken around the city for a morning and given fascinating insights into the history of Montevideo and life there. The following evening, we had an amazing evening at a tablado. We were collected at our accommodation and taken with Christine to the venue, and dropped off by Christine at the door after the event. Christine gave us an explanation of the content and its significance as the show went along. We cannot recommend her too highly.…

We got a hold of Christine via another website, but I must say her seamless communication and instructions to accommodate our very quick layover un Montevideo were spot on and the best use of our short time there during Carnival season! We caught a tablado tour, watched three groups perform, and got the Yerba Mate indoctrination, so now we know how to steep/sip it like the locals! Christine is an encyclopedia of anything Uruguay (and Spanish/Latin American culture in general). We will definitely reach out to her next time we vacation in the area. Thanks!…

Our Carnival tablado tour with Christine was the highlight of our two week trip to Uruguay. Christine is so passionate and so knowledgeable about Carnaval, and she's an absolute delight to hang out with. And the tablado performances are breathtaking, and authentically Uruguayan. Sitting under the stars, eating choripan and beer, surrounded by folks from the neighborhood cheering on their favorites, with Christine offering quick explanations in fluent English of what is happening onstage...this is as close to being a local as it gets. Thanks, Christine...we learned so much, and had a GREAT time. Besos!…

My husband and I loved the walking tour with Christine it gave some amazing insights in the Uruguay way of life, culture and history from learning about placio salvo, mate etiquette or Carnaval. A great way to be introduced to Montevideo. I often think the best guides are those that have lived elsewhere as they see things in a different way to those born and bred where it is just status quo. Highly recommend this tour.…

The Montevideo Carnival is a spectacle not to be missed but utterly bewildering to visitors to Uruguay- luckily we had Christine to guide us and explain the intricacies of this amazing show. Christine is so knowledgeable and gave us such a clear and interesting explanation of what was going on. Thanks to Christine I am now a fan of goose bump inducing Murga music and enjoyed one of the most colourful and magical nights of my life. Christine organised everything and gave us useful advice prior to the visit and sent a post visit e mail with links to some of the music/acts that we had seen.…
